Profile of the Wilson Kaos 2.0 SFT

Who is it best for? Competitive and aggressive players looking for a stable, soft, and lightweight gear might find this versatile Wilson shoe the best option to play on clay or hard courts. Some of the hallmark components injected in this all-court trainer are:

  • Symbiotic structure for lateral support during sudden bursts of speed
  • Heel slope for added underfoot protection and optimum energy return
  • High-density rubber with reliable traction
  • Adjustable lace loops for a customized fit

The bottom side is equipped with Wilson’s trademark Duralast rubber compound. It passed a wear-inducing test at the brand’s laboratory that measures its capability to resist abrasion. Its durable features are equipped to deliver maximum traction on different court surfaces.

Cutting-edge cushioning. R-DST+, Wilson’s advanced cushioning property, takes up the middle section of the shoe with high concentration at the heel. Such a generously-compressed ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) material passed a series of lab assessments that measure the intensity of shock absorption it can hold. The result proved that this material could take on repeated court pounding. It is also equipped with rebound properties that are meant to assist the wearer when bursting forward.

Heel slope. The heel offset is approximately at 9mm that’s neither too low to the ground nor exceedingly high. In Wilson’s standards, it’s tagged under DF2 (Dynamic Fit). The added fraction of padding on the rear side is intended to cushion the foot from impact and give out an extra level of support for speedy performance.

Midfoot stabilizer. The Pro Torque Chassis Light is the central source of stability of this Wilson tennis shoe. It’s an arch technology structured to thwart unwanted twisting of the foot that otherwise can potentially lead to injuries.

Seamless support. The mesh-made external wall of this shoe is strengthened with the Skinguard feature, a web-looking casing system plotted on the entire top. Such a seamless synthetic overlay is formed to provide support and an almost claw-like grip during push-offs, sideway directions, and diagonal trajectories.

Snug built. It’s assembled with the brand’s patented Symbiofit technology. Such an upper system provides a symbiotic fit by utilizing a seam-free bootie upper makeup and lateral casing. It’s practically meant to lock the foot in place during movements.

Lateral stability. Localized at the forefoot is Wilson’s 2D-FS technology that delivers enhanced support and lateral stability and control. This trainer also has a plastic reinforcement at the rear side that’s added to suppress heel slippage.

Nice to know

  • The more advanced version that also highlights the Symbiofit technology is the Wilson 3.0 SFT.
  • Wilson Kaos 2.0 is the non-bootie variation, wherein the tongue is assembled separately from the collar.
