The unisex Slip-On SF or Surf from Vans is offered in men’s and women’s sizing. Like the classic Slip-On, this shoe exhibits a low-top profile in a slip-on construction equipped with elastic goring on both sides which makes it easy to wear and an ideal go-to shoe of many.

The low-top Vans Slip-On SF is the kind of shoe that anyone could where from sun up to sun down. It is lightweight, breathable, and convenient, which makes it the perfect shoe for the summer. Like the legendary Vans Slip-On, this iteration offers nothing but versatility in the style department. Numerous colorways are available for both men and women, so anyone could choose any colorway that suits his/her style best. Wear this Vans with shorts, pants, jeans, skirts, or dresses, and you are good to go.

Vans’ signature slip-on silhouette got its “Surf” treatment through the Vans Slip-On SF shoe. Though infused with added features and a few design tweaks here and there, this upgrade managed to remain true to the original Vans Slip-On’s classic heritage. Like the original, the SF version of the Slip-On also utilizes canvas or textile on the upper. However, this one is made with water-based inks and glues and washable insoles. Also added is a collapsible heel.

With a wide array of comfortable and laid-back low-top, mid-top, and high-top sneakers, the Vans Slip-On remains an iconic and classic model from the California-based skateboarding shoes and apparel brand. It made a debut in 1977 as the “Style #98” and quickly gained a spot in the skate, surf, and BMX scenes during the ‘70s era primarily because of its slip-on feature and versatility.

To this day, the classic Slip-On is still a favorite of many not just for skateboarding but casual use as well. It has been released countless times with lots of new colorways be it solid ones, (such as black, white, red, blue, gray, purple, and more), multi-colored, printed, and, of course, the legendary “Checkerboard” Slip-on iteration that released in 1982 and made an iconic appearance in the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

The classic Slip-On eventually branched out to several more Vans models as its upgraded versions. One of these is the Vans Slip-On SF or otherwise known as the Vans Slip-On Surf. Released as part of the Vans Surf (SF) line, the shoe features a washable insole, an ultra-flexible rubber outsole, and water-based ink and glues.

Some of the released colorways of the Vans Slip-On Surf include geo check, retro rainbow, fleece cornstalk/marshmallow, fleece dress blues/marshmallow, classic white/checker, and distressed white among many others.

  • The acronym SF stands for “Surf.” Other retailers refer to this shoe as the Vans Slip-On Surf SF.
  • This shoe also features removable UltraCush sockliners for breathable and cushioned comfort, Pro Vulc Lite construction, and waffle rubber outsole.
  • A single-wrapped foxing tape is added on the sole unit for lightweight comfort.
  • Signature Vans branding is present just below the elastic side goring and heel.
