Good to know

  • The Sonic RA Pro 2 is an update to a fresh series of running shoes from Salomon. This product offers a facade that is similar to its predecessor. However, the upper features a reduction of printed overlays near the forefoot. This is for heightened breathability and a reduction of weight.
  • The same cushioning technologies from the original Sonic RA Pro model is still utilized in this iteration. However, the shape of the update’s midsole is made to have a midfoot curve to give some attention to the arch.

The standard sizing scheme was used when the Salomon Sonic RA Pro 2 was conceptualized. Runners can get a pair using their typical sizing choices. Because the shoe is built for neutral pronators, the fit specifications are designed for feet with high arches. These include a moderate arch height and a medium midfoot volume, as well as an average-height toe box.

The quality of the sideways fit is influenced by a semi-curved lasting board, a form-fitting upper, and an underfoot platform that accommodates the arch. All of these elements help each other to evoke a feeling of being secure and free from in-shoe wobbling.

The external pad of the Salomon Sonic RA Pro 2 is made of two compounds. The first one is the blown rubber Contagrip®, a spongy layer that adds to the overall oomph of the cushioning. It is durable enough to resist wear-and-tear.

Contagrip® FA is another outsole technology that is specifically designed to dole out traction on both dry and wet paths. Running on the slick ground may yet prove to be a confident endeavor because of this addition.

Vibe™ is a full-length midsole construction that uses two unique midsole technologies. Both of these elements work to deliver responsive takeoffs and well-mitigated foot landings. The Sense Ride series is another of Salomon’s roster which utilizes the Vibe™.

The first ingredient of the Vibe™ is the EnergyCell™+, a compound that is touted to be springy and lightweight. It runs the entire length of the Salomon Sonic RA Pro 2, giving support to the whole foot as it takes each step.

Opal is a core piece that rests in the rear section of the EnergyCell™+. This item bolsters the form of the midsole, resulting in a portion that is stable enough to prevent wobbling.

A molded EVA sockliner offers extra cushioning to the foot-pad. It follows the natural shape of the arch and other crevices to support the areas that aren’t usually addressed.

The upper unit of the Salomon Sonic RA Pro 2 uses engineered mesh, a cloth-like material that is designed to provide a seamless, secure, and breathable coverage.

Printed overlays maintain the upright structure of the upper unit while also assisting the traditional lacing system in securing the foot in place.

The thin collar and tongue accommodate the natural shape of the Achilles, ankles, and instep.
