Good to know

  • The La Sportiva Mutant features the ultra sticky outsole for maximum traction on slippery and muddy terrain. It also gives added durability to the shoe’s outsole unit.
  • It also uses the brand’s unique tongue. It still features the traditional shoe tongue but with added protection, keeping stones and mud from entering the shoe while running. An alternative running gear would be the Altra Lone Peak 4.0.

The Mutant has a regular running shoe sizing. It is available in the medium widths. It gives a perfect fit to runners with narrow to medium foot measurements. The heel is a bit narrow and the midfoot and forefoot have standard measurements.

The outsole unit of the Mutant uses the brand’s FriXion XF technology. It is a sticky compound engineered to deliver impressive traction on rocky or technical surfaces.

It also uses the brand’s V-Groove technology with Impact Brake System that enhances the shoe’s braking power and decreases impact forces. The combining power of these two elements gives additional cushioning and traction.

The midsole uses the Injection Molded EVA that provides sufficient underfoot cushioning. This works well with the TPU Heel Stabilizer that delivers an enhanced fit by keeping the heel snug and secure.

The upper of the La Sportiva Mutant uses the Air Mesh cover that keeps the foot well-ventilated. The foot will be kept cool and dry without affecting the shoe’s breathability features.

The shoe’s Spyraltongue delivers an easy entry and personalized fit while giving additional protection. It prevents debris from entering the shoe and works well with the shoe’s 4 Way Stretch Gaiter. The gaiter covers the upper and keeps shoes free from small stones and debris.

It also features the Fusiongate Lacing Harness system that serves as a support system, securing the foot especially the midfoot.

Lastly, it utilizes the TPU Toe Cap that keeps the foot well-protected sharp rocks and other trail hazards.
