Size and fit

Emerging from the low-top sneaker catalog is the Adidas Tubular Dusk casual kicks which are available in sizes for men and women. Its EVA foam midsole doesn’t offer the same amount of cushioning as the Boost cushioned ones like the high-top Tubular Shadow Instinct Boost, but it still grants ample comfort needed for the usual daily grinds.

Adidas Tubular Dusk Style

Taking cues from a running shoe prototype from the 1990s, the Adidas Originals Tubular Dusk puts a lift to your usual garb with its minimalistic, full-knitted cover. Its heel is similar to the shape of that of the Yeezy 350 V2 which protrudes at the back, while the entire midsole displays the trademark Tubular sole.

How to wear the men’s Adidas Tubular Dusk

Unlike the more brightly-colored Primeknit version, this knitted textile variation are drenched in neutral and subdued shades like Adidas Tubular Dusk core black/ solar red, core white/ core black-grey five, cloud white/clear brown/ silver metallic, grey one/ core white-mystery ink, raw khaki/ night cargo/ cloud white.

Male shoppers may pair the Adidas Tubular Dusk men’s sneakers with pin-rolled pants or tight jeans along with a loose shirt for a laidback look or a light-toned polo for a fashionable flair. You can definitely go sporty with this by fusing it with a short-sleeved sweatshirt and stretchy joggers or body-fitting hoodie and zip track pants.

How to style the Adidas Tubular Dusk shoes for women

Ladies who need to get comfy with their getup as they swing and go from one errand to another or take up daily routine without the need for wedges or stilettos may find joy in adding this style to their sneaker roll. The Adidas Tubular Dusk Core Black/ Shock Pink/ Chalk White puts a feminine and sporty spin to a pair of capri pants, slim-fitting jeans, shorts, miniskirts as well as leggings and gym clothes.

The best way to show off this style is to wear a pair of no-show socks and to keep the hem of the pants a few inches away above the ankle. For a more funky flair, the Adidas Tubular Dusk can go with casual square pants in a complementary shade and a halter or sleeveless top.

Notable Features

The Adidas Tubular Dusk has the same angular presentation of most low-top Tubular kicks including the popular silhouette, the Tubular Dusk Shadow. Below are some of the distinct features that differentiate these two similar looking profiles under the recreated Tubular line.

Adidas Tubular Dusk vs. Adidas Tubular Shadow

Both styles are designed with wraparound, burrito tongues and lace-up ghillie systems, granting a comfortably snug fit. The Adidas Tubular Dusk and Adidas Tubular Shadow also share the same kind of upper materials which is knit with an almost sock-like construction. Many are lured to the maximum comfort these kicks hold due to the lightweight EVA midsole structure and cushy OrthoLite that drives away moisture from the feet.

On the flipside, the Tubular Dusk and Tubular Shadow have added patches of rubber under the ball of the foot and heel, offering added durability to the outsole. The significant difference between the two sneakers lies on the leather midfoot caging found on the medial side panel of the Tubular Dusk, which helps reinforce its structure. The same feature isn’t to be seen in another seemingly identical silhouette, the Adidas Tubular Dusk Primeknit.

Adidas Tubular Dusk History

Adidas once again stretched its Adidas Tubular line, squeezing in a new model – the Tubular Dusk. This 2018 iteration that almost appears like the knit-covered Adidas Tubular Shadow came out a year after the women’s exclusive Adidas Tubular Dawn was launched.

When it comes to the overall structure, the Adidas Tubular Dusk bears a resemblance with the Adidas x Kanye West model, the Yeezy 350 Boost V2, since it exhibits an angular shape with a slightly protruding heel. Like the Adidas Tubular Shadow, some touted the Tubular Dusk as an affordable alternative to the Yeezys.

  Trails of the Adidas Tubular

Adidas Originals dropped the first Tubular silhouette in 1993 in the form of a basketball shoe after a decade-long design experimentation. However, such an offset model which was considered as the world’s inflatable shoe was too futuristic for its time that it was held back for about two years. Adidas’ design innovator Nic Galway saw the significant potential of the Adidas Tubular and started tweaking it into a running shoe. Thus, in 2014, the Three Stripes launched the recreated Tubular Runner.

The Tubular Runner pushed the boundaries between sports and fashion when this iconic silhouette transitioned into a high-fashion sneaker supported by celebrities such as A$AP Rocky, Kendall Jenner, and Justin Bieber.  So before all the hype on the Yeezys, EQTs, NMDs, and Ultra Boosts surfaced, the Tubular got the crowd’s attention as it has been one of the frontliners in Adidas’ sneaker catalog.

The Tubular collection bearing a distinct rippled sole layout that’s patterned after the inner rubber tubes of cars grew aggressively after the arrival of the Tubular Runner. Adding to the expansive list of the Tubular lineup are the innovative low-tops like the Nova, Instinct, Doom Sock, Shadow, and Dusk; mid-tops Invader, Rise, and Defiant; and high-top Doom Primeknit and Instinct, among many others.
