Good to know
The low-top, minimal construction of this training-inspired sneaker permits ankle mobility without sacrificing stability and minimal support. Its flat laces come with a traditional lace-up fastening with extra tongue tab for a snug and customizable fit. The entire upper is made of a mesh material which gives not only a comfortable, lightweight, and breathable fit, but also plenty of movement and a sock-like feel.
The Adidas Los Angeles shoe is a streamlined and modern take on the iconic Adidas LA Trainer from the ‘80s. Based on a training shoe silhouette, it possesses a slim and lightweight profile making it a fitting choice for comfortable casual wearing without sacrificing style. Its modern aesthetics give out flexible styling options for both the ladies and the gents.
Men have an option of dressing it up with a simple shirt-and-jeans kind of outfit, with a sporty set of wardrobe for an athleisure look, or with laid-back shorts and t-shirt kind of get up for casual occasions. Further, because of its versatility, the ladies could also pair it with jeans, shorts, skirts, or even shirt dresses for a casual look that radiates comfort and function.
Taking its cue from the iconic LA Trainer shoe, the modernized aesthetics of the Adidas Los Angeles retains a sporty-casual vibe that purchasers welcomed positively. What stood out, however, is the minimal upper construction that comes in either mesh, knit, or textile material with signature Three Stripes reinforcements on the side walls. But the Three Stripes branding is no ordinary. Aside from the "Los Angeles" imprint, the Three Stripes branding is reflective like the label on the tongue.
In commemoration of the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles, California, the giant sportswear brand Adidas introduced a training shoe named after the host city – the Adidas LA Trainer. Equipped with a retro look and performance-ready technologies, this low-top, performance-based sneaker quickly gained an icon status in the footwear industry.
The Adidas LA Trainer is the first Three Stripes shoe to feature the Vario Shock Absorption technology, a technology utilizing three removable heel pegs on a shoe that allow customized cushioning. The nylon upper is for breathability, while the poly air unit midsole is for a lightweight and flexible feel. These features reflect what the designers had in mind when creating the shoe – a shoe designed for athletes with function over style.
In May 2015, Adidas reintroduced the Adidas LA Trainer simply as the Adidas Los Angeles or the Adidas Originals Los Angeles. Some features of the LA Trainer were stripped off like the iconic heel pegs to suit a classic-yet-modern look of a casual shoe with style and comfort still in mind. The serrated Three Stripes on the side walls from the original LA Trainer turned into straightforward synthetic reinforcements with reflective features in the Los Angeles shoe. Other features include a "Los Angeles" imprint on one of the Three Stripes reinforcements, a well-ventilated woven textile mesh upper, cushioned OrthoLite sock liners, and a low-cut profile.
A kind of shoe that one can wear either dress up or down, the Los Angeles comes in various colorways. There’s an Adidas Los Angeles in white, black, and grey among many others. Recent releases are made available in a different upper material employing knit instead of the typical tonal sports mesh.

Adidas Los Angeles “Polka Dot”
The Three Stripes brand not only focused on a myriad of colorways that it can offer for the Adidas Los Angeles shoes. In this rendition, Adidas took its artistry one step higher by incorporating polka dots pattern to accentuate the silhouette's contemporary flair further. The white polka dots pattern, in particular, highlights the suede heel counter and matches the white accents on the tongue, toe vamp, and rubber midsole. A black rubber outsole seals off the look. The Adidas Los Angeles “Polka Dot” comes in three colors, such as red, black and blue.
Adidas Los Angeles “Oreo”
For sneakerheads, choosing the right colorway is as crucial as picking a particular sneaker model to add to their collection. Despite a plethora of colorways available for most sneakers, there are a few that stands out particularly because of their iconic status, and one of these is the "Oreo" colorway. Popularized by the Air Jordan 4, the Nike KD 10, the Nike LeBron 16, the Nike Vapormax, and the Nike Flyknit Air Max silhouettes, the “Oreo” colorway also touched the training-inspired Adidas Los Angeles shoes.
The Adidas Los Angeles “Oreo” released in 2015 with an affordable price tag of $90. A black and white combination dons the entire toe area of the upper which extends up to the eyelets and tongue, while a solid black color is seen on the rest of the upper. The Three Stripes branding that functions as added reinforcement for support, on the other hand, comes in a contrasting white color.
