The combination of Hyper Burst heel and Ultra Flight foam with the plate in the mix delivers a firmer but in no way harsh ride at a remarkable 8 oz and as such TRL is well suited for fast pace training and shorter distances racing on most terrain, with smoother firm non muddy wet and slippery courses its sweet spot given the Goodyear outsole and its 4mm lugs.

For a speed trail racer on overall moderate terrain, this is your shoe!

  • 94 / 100 | Road Trail Run | | Level 4 expert

My fellow reviewers are all raving about the Go Run Speed Trail Hyper, and I’m right there with them. My biggest gripe is the name, and I’m not kidding.

  • 90 / 100 | Believe in the Run | | Level 4 expert

The Skechers GOrun Speed TRL Hyper is an excellent trail racing shoe, especially on those fabled “buffed-out trails” I keep hearing about on the West Coast. If you’re looking for something you can fly in, and that also looks fly, try it out!

I am personally really impressed by the GOrun Speed TRL Hyper. It boasts a lot for such a light package.

I love that the GORUN Speed Trail Hyper is a super-lightweight trail shoe, and I wish more shoe brands would target this niche.

  • Lightweight performance and long-lasting material quality are the aspects that govern the existence of the Skechers GOrun Speed TRL Hyper. This product features a unisex design, which means that its overall silhouette can work for the foot dimensions of both men and women. The facade is made of breathable mono mesh, as well as a helping of printed and stitched-on overlays.
  • Two technologies, the Goodyear® rubber layer of the outsole and the Dynamic Heel-Lock System, aim to heighten durability and in-shoe security, respectively.

The GOrun Speed TRL Hyper is made to be true to size. Runners should be accommodated in their regular sizing expectations. Skechers has advised that unisex construction would require sizing down 1.5 sizes to get the equivalent of the women’s version.

Sideways fit is affected by the upper unit’s form-fitting fabrics, the semi-curved form of the midsole, and the medium height design of the bridge and the forefoot. All these aspects work together to accommodate the natural shape and motion of the foot.

Goodyear® rubber is used for the outsole unit of the Skechers GOrun Speed TRL Hyper. This layer is designed to deliver long-lasting protection against abrasion and the debilitating effects of continued use. The car-tire quality of this material also contributes to the traction capacity of the shoe.

Triangle-shaped gripping lugs pockmark the external pad. These protrusions are not too prominent, and they have flat ends to help the shoe transition to even surfaces effortlessly.

The midsole unit of the Skechers GOrun Speed TRL Hyper has a dual-cushioning configuration, with one half gracing the heel and the other encompassing the forefoot.

HYPER BURST® is the cushioning component that is used for the heel part of the platform. The purpose of this element is to be a sturdy piece that retains its form, even after many runs. It has a light construction to prevent the foot from feeling as if the midsole is dragging it down.

The foam that graces the forefoot section is the ULTRA FLIGHT™. This is a springy and reactive material that is meant to improve the push-off power of the foot during the forefoot lifting part of the gait cycle.

An injected nylon plate is placed in the forefoot section. This layer is meant to put extra power for effective toe-offs.

Mono mesh is used for the upper unit of the Skechers GOrun Speed TRL Hyper. This lightweight textile is designed to deliver a form-fitting wrap that is light and flexible. It has breathing holes which permit the foot to have an airy in-shoe experience. Breathable uppers grace other shoe series like the Nike Air Zoom Streak.

Stitched and printed overlays help to secure the foot in place and prevent wobbling during the run.

The Dynamic Heel-Lock System is a wraparound cord that connects to the topmost end of the traditional lacing system. The loops that are at the left and right sections of this system serve as extra eyelets for the shoelaces. Snaking the strands through would cause the fit of the shoe’s rear to be manipulated, as well.

A one-piece collar evokes the feeling of being wrapped by a sock.
