User reviews:

The Banshee is a trail running shoe from Merrell that's designed exclusively for women. Its configuration is centered on catering to the unique shape of the female foot. As a bonus, the running shoe is also vegan friendly.

The trail running shoe also features a padded Achilles collar, preventing hot spots and blisters. Moreover, this gives a plush sensation to the foot for maximum comfort.

Lastly, Merrell's M Select™ GRIP outsole is engineered into the running platform. It delivers excellent traction and durability, allowing an optimal and lasting performance.

Similar to the Brooks Caldera 3, the Merrell Banshee is designed following the standard sizing scale. Thus, female runners can order a pair of this trail running shoe using their usual size choice.

Some of the components affecting the fit of the shoe are the mesh and TPU upper, stability overlays, and the rigid heel counter. The mesh and TPU upper provides a snug wrap around the foot. This is complemented by the overlays which keep the foot locked in place. Meanwhile, rearfoot stability is increased by the heel counter utilized by the Merrell Banshee.

As mentioned, the outsole of the Banshee from Merrell is equipped with the M Select™ GRIP outsole. It is composed of a high-strength rubber that pronounces the ground adherence of the running shoe, regardless of conditions. It also acts as the protection of the platform from any sharp, abrasive trail elements. Moreover, the outsole also features deep lugs that optimize pliability for foot flexion and added grip on multiple terrains.

The midsole of the Merrell Banshee is comprised of a cushioned, bouncy EVA foam. It cradles the underfoot comfortably, allowing the athlete to last in the competition without feeling any strain or discomfort. It also supplies sufficient responsiveness to the wearer for a more efficient ride. More importantly, the generous layer of EVA foam does not necessarily weigh the runner down as it employs minimal bulk.

Embedded on top of the EVA midsole is a removable EVA footbed. Its primary responsibility is to add support and comfort to the foot. The sockliner of the trail running shoe also extends the overall durability of the platform, hampering wear and tear.

Promoting better air circulation and security within the foot chamber, the Banshee's upper is configured using mesh and TPU textiles. This combination is ultra-light, adhering to the generally light composition of the running shoe. Since it has flexible qualities, it morphs into the natural shape of the foot, amplifying lockdown fit.

To reinforce the structure of the platform, stability overlays are implemented over the instep. These overlays help push the foot further down into the midsole, impeding premature shoe dislodgement.

For a plush, secure sensation, a padded Achilles collar is incorporated into the running shoe's upper. It holds the foot in place while preventing the onset of blisters and abrasion.

Lastly, a TPU heel counter is present at the rearfoot. It delivers just the right amount of support to the foot, ensuring lockdown in each stride of the runner.
