These are lightweight, with a low-to-ground feel, and they promise to make the last step as confident as the first.

It redefines what a company like Adidas can do if they can forget mass market appeal and focus on a technical niche. The Skychaser is a masterpiece in footwear and sets the expectations for what trail runners should expect to put on their feet in nearly every way.

Updates to Adidas Terrex Skychaser GTX

  • Running on the trails is much easier and more agreeable with the Adidas Terrex Skychaser GTX. This shoe features waterproof protection, trail-optimized performance and top-tier fabric coverage, for a secure and comfortable time on the off-road paths. The high-quality construction allows it to last long and to perform well.
  • The upper unit of this running shoe makes use of durable fabrics, which are resistant to abrasion and damage. These sturdy textiles shield the foot from debris and other trail hazards. The GORE-TEX® waterproof membrane allows the foot to stay dry and safe from water infiltration.
  • The underfoot platform has been optimized to provide comfort and stability. A TPU unit has been added to keep the foot balanced and well-supported throughout the running session. A top-tier foam material cushions the foot and attenuates impact shock during the landing phase of the gait cycle.
  • Extraordinary grip is given by the Continental™ Rubber compound. Used as the outsole unit of the Adidas Terrex Skychaser GTX, it effectively shields the rest of the platform from abrasion and wear. It is also responsible for traction. Aggressive gripping lugs enhance surface grip and control.

Adidas Terrex Skychaser GTX size and fit

The Adidas Terrex Skychaser GTX has a standard running shoe length. The sizing schemes accommodate the regular preferences of runners. The available width is medium. It is able to welcome those with medium sized feet. The semi-curved shape of this shoe mimics the natural curve of the human foot.

Outsole

Continental™ Rubber is a high-quality material that serves as the outsole layer of the Adidas Terrex Skychaser GTX. It guards the rest of the sole unit from the abrasive nature of the trails. It also provides traction, which is important to every running session.

Gripping lugs allow the shoe to hold onto surface with more sureness and ease. They’re helpful when it comes to handling upward and downward traversals, yet they’re also efficient on softer ground.

Midsole

The boost™ mid-sole foam has energy-returning properties. Made from tiny cushioning pellets, this full-length platform cushions the foot responsibly and delivers a ‘boost’ to the toe-off. It even attenuates impact shock when landing the foot on the ground.

The Pro Moderator™ is a support unit that’s made from a thin layer of TPU. It stabilizes the platform and keeps the foot supported at all times. It’s helpful, especially when traversing uneven and unpredictable terrain.

Upper

Durable mesh makes up the main upper unit. This sturdy material doesn’t easily get torn or damaged. It wraps around the foot snugly and securely.

Abrasion-resistant overlays add more structural integrity to the upper. They also improve the overall durability of the shoe since they do not succumb easily to the potentially damaging nature of trail debris, dirt, and the like.

The GORE-TEX® lining allows the runner to stay dry, even when exposed to wet conditions. It’s one of the most prominent waterproof technologies on the market.

The speed lacing construction utilizes an easy-to-use system, which is made up of lacing strands and a locking mechanism. The runner only needs to adjust the wire once and lock it. There’s no need to do any manual tying.
