Salomon X Reveal notable features

-Featuring a lightweight construction, this hiker from Salomon features a mesh performance upper that provides breathable protection against the elements, a Contragrip outsole that sticks well to varying surfaces, and a lightweight EVA midsole that delivers cushioning and support.

-It also features an Ortholite footbed for added support and comfort, a traditional lace-up closure for a secure fit, and a protective toe cap for increased durability.

Size and fit

The Salomon X Reveal is a low-top hiker that features a stitch-free upper construction for a smooth, glove-like fit. It has a cushy and generous interior, creating a comfortable and plush environment for the foot. The collar is nicely padded so your ankle can move freely without discomfort. Lastly, this shoe uses a lace-up closure system with eyelets for a locked-in feel.

Outsole

This hiker is equipped with the Contragrip outsole - a propriety technology of Salomon. It is made of a high-quality rubber compound of different densities. Basically, some areas of the sole are stiff while others are soft and flexible, giving you the flex and rigidity right where you need them. This unique quality of the Contragrip makes it really durable and adaptive to the terrain. Meanwhile, the arrow-like lugs are meant to bite into different surfaces.

Midsole

For the midsole, the X Reveal shoes feature the EnergyCell made of lightweight EVA. It's a high-rebound cushioning system that delivers reliable shock-absorption and bounce. These qualities help you tackle longer trails without feeling too tired. Boosting the cushioning property of this hiker is an Ortholite footbed that is cut to the inner shape of the shoe. It doesn't just provide plush cushioning but also durability and breathability. Ortholite footbeds are long-wearing. And since they are removable, you can choose to use your own orthotics.

Upper

A hiking shoe that's perfect for the summer season, the Salomon X Reveal features a welded upper made of mesh. The stitch-free upper construction makes it more durable because there are no weak spots where tearing usually starts to occur. Even the tongue is made of mesh so there's an optimum amount of airflow all throughout. This shoe doesn't have a waterproof lining so it's going to keep your feet cool during very hot days. You can also wear socks when it starts to get a little cold.

To protect your foot against common trail hazards like sharp rocks and sticks, the X Reveal hiker comes with a toe cap made of synthetic material. There's also a synthetic reinforcement surrounding the heel area for added durability.
