Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 review
Brooks is a major American designer of running shoes that is prestigious in the running world. The brand surely knows what they are doing, and this 19th version of their Adrenaline model proves it.
The target runner
This is the pair of shoes you want to have handy for your recovery runs when you wish to lower your pace. You will be grateful for feeling a softer shock with the pavement.
The Brooks Adrenaline family is known for its stability shoes. They also offer runners a real correction to pronate or supinate steps.
The Adrenaline models specially dedicated a great help to pronation on their GTS 18 model by having a solid arch midsole. This midsole provided the necessary correction to the pronation.
Now, Brooks has once again come up with an innovation in the Adrenaline GTS 19 model with the new Guard Rails Holistic Support System technology.
This technology helps the runners only when necessary—one is to run in a flat treadmill, and another is to go on the road with uneven terrain and obstacles.
The main characteristics of the shoe
- Weight: of 312 grams
- A drop of 12 mm heel to toe
The major highlights of the shoe are
The Adrenaline GTS 19 is a bit bulky
The look is a bit bulky, especially if you are used to more minimalistic models. At first, you may even feel like you are running in your Crocs due to extreme comfort.
But once you get used to the feeling, you will soon notice that these trainers are a keeper.
Now, let’s talk about the composition of the shoe. From top to bottom, the sole consists of:
- Upper: Engineered mesh
- Midsole: BioMogo foam, DNA Loft heel and Guide Rails on both sides
- Outsole: Carbon rubber under the heel, softer blown rubber under the forefoot
It feels very comfortable
The upper consist of an engineered mesh that feels very comfortable. It also provides a breathable experience on every run on the front side and the mid-section.
Meanwhile, towards the heel, you have a 3D Printed technology, which allows the shoe to wrap your foot and keep you well-balanced in every step.
The front and mid-upper section are very comfortable and very spacious. This extra space has caused some runners to complain about their feet not being held as tight as they think it should be.
However, this room also provides comfort without exposing your step due to the strong protection from the midsole and outsole.
The heel cup is comfortable but firm. And, the heel structure offers what you need—proper protection and high-quality shock absorption.
The shoe fits well and is true to your size, although some runners say the Adrenaline GTS 19 could run half a size smaller than expected.
The tongue offers an excellent cushion and does not provoke any irritation. It provides the best comfort you can have.
Brooks offers a combination of color tones in the upper, including some bright reflective ones. These not only look good but also helps on those dark runs.
The upper is very lightweight, which compensates for the heavier midsole and outsole.
Its engineered mesh is spot on. The soft mesh of the engineered vamp provided the shoe with a nice roomy toe-box that is very breathable and feels good.
The engineered fit case on the heel cup has a padded ankle area as well as a rubber heel protection. These innovations allow you to feel comfortable in every stride while feeling secure in your ankle and Achilles tendon.
Midsole of the Adrenaline GTS 19
The Adrenaline GTS 19 uses a dual-density midsole and is based on DNA Loft and BIOMOGO DNA technology.
This shoe offers full ground contact from heel to toe, including in the arch of the foot, with a variety of sections throughout the outsole. Through these, the shoe can assist the runner where and when needed no matter how one runs.
The heel section is composed of carbon rubber, which is a hard material seeking extra durability. Towards the front of the foot, the sole has a softer rubber with indentations trying to promote flexibility after each step.
