Updates to Altra Provision 3.5

  • The Altra Provision 3.5 is a stability running shoe that’s optimized for road running shoe. It’s also made to correct the pronation problems of mild overpronators. The StabiliPod™ anti-pronation pillars, the Guide Rail™ perimeter wall, and the integrated Varus Stability wedge all work together to ensure a stable running experience.
  • A rubber exterior makes sure to protect the foam portion of the platform from the harsh effects of surface contact. A network of grooves and contact points accommodate the natural shape and motion capacity of the wearer’s foot.
  • The upper unit features the Quick-Dry Air Mesh, which is a breathable fabric that is able to wick off moisture. Printed overlays bolster the structural integrity of the façade while delivering a secure fit. The heel is kept in place by the padded collar and a printed strip.

Size and fit

Altra used the standard measurements when they made the Provision 3.5. Runners can purchase a pair that adheres to their sizing preferences. The width options of this model area D – Medium for men and B – Medium for women. The foot-shaped designs of the platform and the upper are catalysts for a form-fitting and relaxed in-shoe experience.

The FootPod™ design, which is also present in the Altra Olympus 3 running shoe, represents the shape and motion capability of the foot through a series of grooves and indentations. These details allow the runner to move seamlessly through the gait cycle.

A rubber compound covers the foot-shaped design of the sole unit, shielding it from wear-and-tear. It also makes sure to deliver traction over the surfaces.

The midsole unit of the Altra Provision 3.5 utilizes the Ultralight EVA, which is a full-length compound that’s designed for lightweight support and long-lasting impact attenuation.

The A-Bound™ is a proprietary technology that’s made from recycled materials. Its job is to maintain the resilience of the underfoot platform and ensure resilient cushioning.

Guide Rails™ are foam perimeters that surround the shoe. These raised walls hold the foot in place and prevent it from wobbling.

The StabiliPod™ configuration involves three pillars in the sole unit that serve as steadying sections. These stability posts prevent the arch from collapsing or pronating.

The Varus Stability wedge is a built-in piece that slopes down from the medial side to the lateral side. It mostly makes sure that the tendency of the overpronated foot to roll inward is prevented.

A Quick-Dry Air Mesh serves as the upper unit of the Altra Provision 3.5. This breathable material accommodates airflow into the foot-chamber, yet it also wicks off moisture.

Overlays are printed onto the façade. These thin add-ons help the lacing system when it comes to delivering a secure yet customizable fit.

A printed heel strap locks the back of the foot in place, preventing it from exiting the shoe unintentionally.
