Updates to Under Armour SpeedForm Gemini 3

  • The Under Armour SpeedForm Gemini 3 is a road running shoe that’s made for runners who have neutral pronation. It features Engineered Mesh on the upper, which is a departure from the traditional mesh construction in the previous iterations of the Gemini. A mid-foot panel made from high-strength fibers helps in securing the foot and providing a snug wrap.
  • The mid-sole is comprised of two proprietary technologies that have graced many Under Armour shoes. They work together in order to provide responsible cushioning and protection from impact shock. One of these systems has a springy disposition, which allows the foot to lift off the ground in a more responsive way. The included sock liner molds to the shape of the underfoot, giving it some support.
  • Two rubber compounds are used for the outsole unit of the Under Armour SpeedForm Gemini 3. Both of them are durable and long-lasting, but the one placed in the forefoot section is much more responsive. It actually adds a bit more cushioning, while also keeping the platform as flexible as possible.

Under Armour SpeedForm Gemini 3 size and fit

Regular measurements were used in the making of the Under Armour SpeedForm Gemini 3. The sizing schemes follow the preferences of runners. The available width for both the men and women’s versions is medium. It welcomes those who have medium sized feet. The semi-curved shape of this shoe mimics the natural curve of the human foot.

Outsole

Blown rubber is a lightweight yet responsive material. Placed in the forefoot area of the Under Armour SpeedForm Gemini 3, it provides traction while also adding a bit more cushioning and flexibility for the foot.

High-abrasion rubber is placed in the heel section. This durable compound handles impact shock and makes sure to preserve the structure of the mid-sole unit. It doesn’t peel off or wear out easily.

Flex grooves make the front section of the platform more adherent to the natural movement of the wearer’s foot.

Midsole

The Charged Foam is a full-length foam unit that cushions the foot throughout the running session. It responds well to the movements of the foot, and it gives protection from impact during the landing phase.

The Micro G Cushioning is placed in the heel section. It absorbs the impact forces during the foot-strike and bounces forward for a springy transition towards the toe-off.

An Embedded Sock Liner follows the shape of the underfoot, giving support and cushioning to the arch, which isn’t usually given attention when it comes to neutral shoes.

Upper

Engineered mesh is used in the upper unit of the Under Armour SpeedForm Gemini 3. It covers the foot securely and provides a breathable coverage. It welcomes environmental air easily into the foot-chamber, keeping a cool and dry environment for the runner at all times.

The SpeedForm construction essentially allows the upper unit to conform nicely to the shape of the wearer’s foot, giving a glove-like fit that’s free from distractions.

The Threadbone Midfoot Support Panel is essentially a fabric overlay that helps the rest of the upper when it comes to delivering a secure wrap. It works with the lacing system in keeping the fit snug or loose, depending on the preference of the runner.

A seamless heel counter has been added internally. This lightweight material supports the rear part of the foot and prevents it from exiting the shoe unintentionally. It’s not bulky, as well.
