Outsole awesomeness of Under Armour Clutchfit Drive
The previous model’s multidirectional herringbone outsole is carried over to the Under Armour Clutchfit Drive 2. Although the tread pattern offers no fancy storytelling, it nevertheless provides a good grip and control whenever needed. The pattern rises up to the medial side of the forefoot to support angular movements like hard cuts.
Tight secure lockdown
Support and lockdown of the shoe comes from the basketball shoe’s upper material and tight fit. An internal heel counter and an external heel clip ensure that there are no up-down heel slips.
Clutchfit Drive 2's effective construction
Compared to the previous ClutchFit Drive basketball shoe, the II’s do not have as much ClutchFit material on the upper. The shoe, instead, has a combination of mesh and synthetic material with patterned ClutchFit fuse underlays in selected areas. This material acts as a flexible, supportive, and durable second skin. The upper is well-padded and plush, especially the ankle collar and tongue.
The midsole uses a Charged cushioning with a Micro G insole, while the outsole is made of solid rubber.
Under Armour's supportive style
The shoe has the ClutchFit pattern on the upper to add character to the shoe. With an “hour-glass” shape, the pattern is designed to flex with certain movements and remain supportive for others.
This pattern is situated in areas that help accentuate the shoe’s aesthetics. The original shoe is considered a high-top. Low-top versions have been released. Both the heel and outsole bear the Under Armour logo.
