Updates to Under Armour Highlight Delta 2

  • The Under Armour Highlight Delta 2 strives to be an extra-supportive running shoe with its mid-cut ankle collar and premium cushioning material. This shoe is ideal for runners who need flexibility, underfoot comfort, and versatility. Compared to the first release, the Highlight Delta 2 is lighter, now weighing an ounce and a half less.
  • The updated upper now uses a Threadborne knit material that provides a more breathable and compression-like fit, as well as a lightweight directional strength. It still features the ribbed ankle collar that gives a snug fit and support.
  • The midsole retains the Charged Cushioning® material, as it proves to be successful in producing a responsive ride and durability. Meanwhile, the slimmer outsole now delivers multi-surface traction with its engineered lugs that grip any surface.

Size and fit

The Under Armour Highlight Delta 2 runs large. Wearers are advised to get a half-size smaller than their usual size preference. The forefoot construction is elongated and wide, enabling a comfortable toe splay even for runners with a high foot volume. The width profiles available are D – Medium for men and B – Medium for women.

Outsole

This UA running shoe uses a solid rubber material for the outsole, equipped with multi-surface traction so that it is able to grip any surface with ease. Anatomical flex grooves accompany the sole, allowing a natural range of motion and flexibility where necessary.

A firm rubber is reinforced on the high-wear areas to ensure durability and to let the shoe to log more miles effortlessly.

Midsole

A dual-layer Charged Cushioning® makes up the midsole of the Highlight Delta 2. It comprises of a compression-molded ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) that excels in responding. The performance of the midsole is comparable to the Ravenna 10 running shoe from Brooks.

The two layers consist of a soft upper foam that takes the impact from the strike, and beneath it is a firm level that enhances the responsiveness. Both levels work together by bringing optimal cushioning and energy return, resulting in a smooth and steady ride for the runner.

The sock liner is also made of Charged Cushioning® foam. It follows the shape of the foot, thus giving a personalized fit.

Upper

The Highlight Delta 2 features a Threadborne knit upper, which is a breathable material that offers a snug, wraparound fit. This element ensures comfort and delivers directional strength.

The upper has a mid-cut ankle collar with a ribbed finish, promoting a cleatie-like fit for enhanced support and protection. To provide even more support, the shoe has a lacing system that makes use of deeply cut eyelets that move freely with the foot.

Entirely, the upper has a seamless finish while displaying reflective threads throughout, therefore increasing visibility in low-light conditions. The heel cup also has emphasized reflective details.
