Notable elements of the Puma Ballast

- Offering a lightweight design partnered with a construction that’s meant to deliver stability, the Puma Ballast features a durable rubber outsole that provides superior grip and traction on varied surfaces.

- To be able to deliver its promise of a lightweight ride, the midsole composition of the shoe is made out of lightweight foam material that provides cushioning to the foot. To allow a more free movement of the foot, Puma Ballast is equipped with a fully-knitted upper.

Size and fit

The Puma Ballast is designed using standard sizing measurement. Thus, you can get a pair of these running shoes with your usual sizing preference.

Several components of the Ballast directly affect its fit. This includes the knitted upper of the shoe which not only provides flexibility but conformity to the shape of the foot, as well. The lace-up closure of the shoe delivers an adjustable fit for a comfortable and secure running experience. The rubber heel clip found in the rear of the Ballast prevents the heel from slipping thus enhancing the security of the shoe.

Just like most Puma running shoes, the Ballast is comprised of a rubber outsole. Rubber outsoles are known for being highly durable, protecting the shoe from hazardous elements that are present when running. Aside from this, it also offers excellent traction from the heel through the forefoot delivering a safe ride.

Since the Puma Ballast is constructed to deliver a lightweight feel when running, the materials incorporated into its design involve lightweight components, just like its lightweight foam midsole. It helps deliver cushioning and comfort to the shoe.

The sockliner present within the Ballast features a cushioned Soft Foam. This material extends the comfort and cushioning delivered by the shoe.

Similar to the New Balance Cypher Run v2, the upper construction of the Puma Ballast features full coverage of a knitted upper. It is responsible for allowing sufficient airflow into the shoe to keep the foot feeling fresh when running. It also enhances the flexibility of the shoe to permit more foot movement while providing a secure and stable fit.

For a convenient entry of the foot into the shoe, a slip-on sock collar is integrated into the Ballast’s design.

A molded rubber heel clip secures the heel from slipping; thus, delivering a safe ride. To further the security and comfort of the shoe, a lace-up closure is furnished to the shoe’s upper for an adjustable fit.
