Jordan Westbrook 0.3 History

Russell Westbrook has been the face of the Jordan brand for years. Dubbed as the modern “Triple-Double King,” his ferocity and relentlessness have made him one of the most exciting players in the NBA. Westbrook is also acknowledged by many as one of, if not, the most athletic point guards the league has ever witnessed.

Westbrook was part of the UCLA college basketball program for two years. During his freshman season, he was only a back-up to Darren Collison. By his second season, he was assigned to the starting shooting guard position. Westbrook’s college is by no means mediocre, but, it wasn’t jaw-dropping either. Still, the Oklahoma City Thunder used its 4th pick to draft him in 2008.

During Westbrook’s early years in the NBA, he was teammates with future MVPs Kevin Durant and James Harden. Despite experiencing initial success, injuries, chemistry issues, and the salary cap have made these three superstars to part ways. Westbrook won his MVP award in 2016, the year after the departure of Durant to the GS Warriors. In the off-season of 2019, he requested a trade to reunite with James Harden in Houston.

The Westbrook 0.3 is one of the uncommon Jordan shoes that are not basketball-inspired. It is inspired by the skater culture of the ‘80s.
