3 reasons not to buy

  • Many wearers think that there should be more colorways than the bright yellow being released. The Puma Clyde Court Disrupt also has limited colorways just like the Shaq Attaq.
  • A small number of buyers say that the shoe model runs longer and wider. The fifth Dame Lillard shoe has the same issue with the fit.

Bottom line

Generally speaking, the Reebok Shaq Attaq Modern is still a performance shoe. Though most buyers purchase these classic Reebok basketball shoes to be a part of their retro collection, the $160 price tag is not bad. If you are a huge fan of Shaq and would love to keep his story alive, cop a pair of the Reebok Shaq Attaq Modern.

Good to know

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Reebok released a retro of the Shaq Attaq with a twist. The nubuck in the upper is changed to mesh and fuse overlays. Reebok keeps the rest of the shoe the same. In the midsole, the Graphlite and Hexalite technologies work together to deliver an amazing performance.

Cushion. The Graphlite technology provides arch support to the Shaq Attaq Modern. It is a lightweight and sturdy carbon fiber which promises stability to the shoe. The Hexalite technology is in the heel area of the midsole. It delivers impact protection to the foot.

Traction. The outsole of the Reebok Shaq Attaq Modern is made of thick rubber with minimal herringbone traction. They work together to provide a good court grip and durability.

Length and Width. The Shaq Attaq Modern comes in the average width and length, and new buyers are advised to go true to their sizes.

Lockdown. The Reebok Shaq Attaq Modern has a simple lace-up closure with plastic eyelets and flat shoelaces. The Pump technology helps achieve the desired fit by inflating the tongue.

The upper of the Reebok Shaq Attaq Modern is different compared to the original version released more than twenty-five years ago. Instead of the nubuck upper, it is now composed of woven mesh and fuse overlays. The fuse overlays provide durability to the woven mesh, which in turn delivers breathability to the shoe. The inner of the shoe has perforated padding that provides support and comfort to the ankle.

The Reebok Shaq Attaq is a mid-top basketball sneaker that comes only in bright yellow colorway. There were sample releases in maroon but they were never made available widely. The REEBOK callout is found on the lateral side of the shoe. To signify that the shoe model is part of Shaq’s signature series, his highly regarded Dunkman logo is found on the heel counter.
