Puma RS-0 Game Restart History

As one of the few giant sportswear brands known in the world Puma aims to consistently release new models in an effort to provide to its market continually, and one of their methods to inspire their future collections is by looking back in their archives. In 2018 the brand took cues from the past and reintroduced the RS lineage.

Initially established in the 80s, the RS (short for Running System) was considered an innovative cushioning technology during its time. Puma invented this tech as an answer to the market's demand for high-tech running shoes. The collection's first model was called the Puma RS-100. Released in 1986, this kick boasted of ‘advanced comfort.' The Puma RS Computer Shoe came after, and it is the first footwear to give runners computed statistics to aid in performance.

Fast-forward to Spring-Summer 2018, the reintroduction of the collection started with the re-release of the RS-0 model. The reissue received a stripped back version and upgraded materials and features to keep up with today's sneaker standards. The shoe has been offered in numerous iterations including the Puma RS-0 Game Restart.

The Puma RS-0 Game Restart is part of the brand's RS-0 gaming series, which pays homage to video games from the 90s. It displays a static upper derived from system glitches of 90's video games.
