Puma Fenty Suede Cleated Creeper History
It was in December 2014 when Puma and Grammy Award-winning singer Rihanna announced their partnership as part of the brand's major rebranding. The perfect female face to embody the brand's new sport-with-attitude direction, the pop star was appointed as Puma's global ambassador for Women's Training and later on as the Creative Director for Puma Women's. Such a position allows her to have a say on product collections, take part in designing or customizing existing Puma classic styles, and create new styles for the brand.
One of the collaboration's successful releases was the Puma Fenty Creeper. It was the music icon's first shoe for the brand, and each launch sold out quickly. In fact, its September 2015 release sold out just within 3 hours. It even won the Shoe of the Year award in 2016 and is a favorite among celebrities with the likes of Cara Delevingne, Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, the Weeknd, and Lena Dunham.
The Puma Penty Suede Cleated Creeper released as part of Rihanna's Fall 2017 Fenty Puma Collection, initially on August 31, 2017, in two colorways – black and golden brown. Its general features are similar to that of the original Puma Suede Creeper, but the sole is much thicker and of cleated rubber material.
