Who should buy the Nike LeBron Witness 6
The Nike LeBron Witness 6 is for those who want a basketball shoe that they will NOT use in actual basketball games. Given the minimal-feeling upper and the comfort that this Nike shoe delivers, wearing this at work and the gym won't be such a bad idea.
Who should NOT but the Nike LeBron Witness 6
If you fit any of the following descriptions, the Witness 6 is surely not for you:
- prefer not to wipe frequently
- like responsive basketball shoes
- want low-to-the-ground shoe profile and court feel
- want to feel stable and safe
- hate breaking in shoes
Yes, if you are a typical basketball player, you are better off getting something else. Aside from the affordable Mamba Rage, the pricier Cosmic Unity is also a good pick.
A so-so bite is all the Nike LeBron Witness 6 has
Straight out of the box, the traction was a bit problematic, gave it some time and it started to bite, but its performance was still not the best. It was not a Just do it experience. It was just OK, and it simply could have done more.
Disappointing cushioning system
Not a fan of Air Max, period. It felt too high off the ground, didn't offer that much impact protection, and it wasn't so responsive. Where does its strength lie?
Good containment
Surprisingly, the lockdown was nice even if the materials were thin. The feet were laterally contained.
The LeBron Witness 6 has questionable stability
Stability...well, it was terrible. The base wasn't wide, so worries about ankle rolls annoyingly lingered.
Smooth heel-to-toe transition
The tip of the forefoot was curved enough to make every step smooth.
Heavy, but doesn't feel like it
The Nike LeBron Witness 6 was at 13.12 oz (372 g). It's already above the average (which is around 12.5 oz or 354g), but it doesn't feel that heavy. It's probably because of the minimal and comfortable materials.
