When searching for a performance shoe, your personal preferences come into play more than anything else. There are going to be obvious ‘good’ performers but everyone has their own likes, dislikes, needs and wants. This is my personal all-time favorite sneaker to hoop in and some may agree while many others may disagree. The scores below obviously do not reflect my personal opinions – as they shouldn’t – and there are many higher caliber performance models available on the market but these happen to suit me quite nicely.

Awarded as the Most Valuable Player of the NBA for the years 2000 and 2001, Allen Iverson is one of the most exemplary players in the history of basketball. The Reebok Question is his first signature shoe.

The mesh and nubuck upper of this basketball shoe sits on top of a midsole that features the Hexalite technology. To deliver reliable traction, the translucent sole of this shoe features a deceptively simple traction pattern.

Cushion. The responsiveness of the Reebok Question Mid comes from its midsole’s Hexalite technology, which is characterized by the honeycomb pattern on its outer shell. This cushioning technology dissipates impact and promises stability. It is covered by a tough layer of thermoplastic urethane, which helps maintain its shape and function.

The insole of this shoe is removable and comes with a shock pad in the heel. It provides superb comfort both for play and casual use.

Traction. The outsole of the Reebok Question Mid is made of translucent rubber. The simple design of the outsole can be deceiving, but it has really good traction. The flat solid rubber is designed for both on- and off-court use.

Length and Width. The mid-top version of the Reebok Question comes in the standard length, and wearers are advised to go true to size. For those with wider feet, going half a size up is recommended.

Lockdown. To securely hold the foot in place, the Reebok Question uses thick rope laces. The five eyelets are made of premium leather.  A firm heel counter keeps the heel secured at all times.

The upper of the Reebok Question Mid is made of premium nubuck. Nubuck is the result after the outer side of the cow’s hide is processed to form a textured type of leather. It is similar to suede, only a bit more expensive. It provides thickness and strength to the shoe.

The breathability of the shoe comes from the mesh tongue. Another source of ventilation is the woven paneling on both sides of the shoe.

The shoe model pays homage to the iconic cornrows of Allen Iverson. Cornrow patterns run on both sides of the shoe. On the heel counter is the logo of the Reebok Question line. Below that is a stylized version of Allen Iverson’s jersey number 3.

The leather on top of the tongue has the Reebok logo. Upon purchase, this shoe model comes with lace of different  colors. The purpose is to coordinate with the alternating uniform colors of the Philadelphia Sixers.

Reebok Question Mid HOF

The Reebok Question Mid HOF is the result of a collaboration between Reebok and Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame, Ltd. is a clothing store based in Los Angeles, California. The collaboration celebrates Allen Iverson and the 20th anniversary of the Reebok Question series.

The mid-top shoe has a uniquely designed upper. It is made of a premium black nubuck upper, and it features Allen Iverson’s cornrows on the side panels. Leather is used on the lace gillies, inner walls, and insoles.
