The Adidas Stan Smith Leather Sock offers a great deal of ease with the use of a very soft raw leather that embraces the feet well like a sock, where the lining and cushioning in the interior walls of the shoe becomes unnecessary. This sneaker generally runs true to size and available in men’s sizes in medium width. This sneaker with a standard lacing system and gusseted tongue is obtainable in sizes 5 to 13 US.

Adidas does a couple of dramatic changes in the appearance, form, and character of the classic tennis shoe with the drop of the Stan Smith Leather Sock. The brand eliminated the leather overlays, padding, and lining of the classic model, and placed a modern appeal to this retro-style sneaker by using a buttery soft Nubuck leather upper with unfinished edges. This deconstructed version gets a monochromatic tone and turns the classic to a very chic, minimalist-looking off-court casual footwear.

The vintage Adidas Stan Smith that has won the hearts of tons of sneaker enthusiasts for many decades, is stripped down to its bare essentials by removing all the layers on the upper and by taking away the filling and lining in its interior. In spite of the revisions, the shoe offers comfort in every angle. The tongue and heel are built from the same leather material that is used throughout the upper, which retains its classic character in a much lightweight form.

Adidas brings back its court favorite, slashes down a huge weight from the 1970s original, and comes up with a deconstructed version, the Adidas Stan Smith Leather Sock in 2017. Comfort is the pronounced feature of this updated version where its timeless all-white DNA is made into a one-piece raw leather upper.

The Stan Smith is a reworked version of the first leather tennis shoe of the brand, called the Haillet that Adidas created for the 1960s top seeder Robert Haillet. When the athlete retired from tennis, Adidas commissioned the 1970s top-ranking tennis player, Smith and made a few adjustments on the older sneaker.

The Adidas Stan Smith was introduced in 1971 with a distinct green padding on the heel and the most recognizable mug on the tongue that has been adored for decades on and off the court. The Adidas Stan Smith seems to never go out of style as it continues to create an impact whether the retro gets an almost identical cover as the OG or updated using different textiles.

In the Spring of 2017, Adidas modified this much-loved vintage sneaker by simplifying its structure into a single-piece, seamless  upper and removing the lining and padding around the collar to offer a sock-like feel. The brand replaces the leather Three-Stripe branding on the side panels with diagonal perforations to make the design more streamlined.  The initial release of this variation called Adidas Stan Smith Leather Sock came in White and Collegiate Navy colorways.

  • The Adidas Stan Smith Leather Sock has a cushioned OrthoLite sockliner that offers comfort to the feet.
  • The outsole is made of a tough rubber material.
  • For an additional cost, the Adidas Stan Smith Leather Sock can be customized to suit one’s personal taste. The primary color of the sneaker can be altered while there are pattern options that can be engraved on the quarter and forefoot sections. Interestingly, the branding on the sockliner may be replaced by a 20-character text.
