User reviews:

-Made with a full-grain leather upper and a high-performance sole, this boot from Salomon has many qualities you’d look for from a winter boot. Chief among its features is the Contagrip® W outsole that gives the shoe a strong grip on freezing and slippery grounds.

-In addition to the fully waterproof construction, this boot comes with a faux fur lining designed to keep your feet toasty in negative-degree temperatures.

Designed for men who love the outdoors, the Salomon Utility Winter CS WP is a high-cut boot with a standard lace-up closure system for a secure fit. Since it’s made with a leather upper, the boot easily conforms to the foot after some breaking in. Furthermore, the flat laces reduce pressure points over the instep, giving the wearer a consistent and comfortable fit.

Built for wet, snowy, and icy terrains, the shoe’s outsole features the proven Winter Contagrip® technology. This high-performance rubber contains a unique compound that maintains adhesion in freezing temperatures. It is also non-marking, which makes Salomon Utility Winter CS WP a good shoe for work and indoor activities. The aggressive, multidirectional lug pattern provides reliable traction in all seasons.

For added cushion and comfort, the shoe is made with injected ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam. Unlike the traditional method of constructing midsoles (which is through compression), the injection process results in a thinner, softer, and more flexible midsole.

For this reason, the Salomon Utility Winter CS WP has better shock absorption and cushioning. It comes with a basic EVA sockliner for added comfort.

The shoe upper is made of quality Nubuck leather that is naturally resistant to wear and tear, along with “felt” fabric for added warmth and breathability. It incorporates faux fur lining for keeping your foot toasty in chilly weather conditions.

During rainy days on the trail, you won’t be worried about water entering your boot. Thanks to the ClimaSalomon™ Waterproof membrane - a unique, lightweight material that has solid waterproof properties. Other materials used in this winter boot are also waterproof for a high level of protection from rain, water, and snow.

Completing the upper is the gusseted tongue that keeps the debris out and a lace-up closure for a snug fit. Meanwhile, the leather toe cap provides protection against large chunks of ice, debris, and accidental impact.

  • While it offers a good amount of warmth in cold weather, the Salomon Utility Winter CS WP lacks special insulation. You can check out other Salomon boots that feature Thinsulate - an exclusive company technology that provides top-notch shoe insulation in trail conditions beyond freezing points.
