Updates to Reebok Fusium Run 2

  • Reebok’s lineup of running shoes have a consistent aim of providing a companion on the run that is both comfortable and affordable, and the second version of the Fusium Run 2 delivers just that. Coming from the first iteration, the Fusium Run’s update promises an even lighter cushioning for comfort in every stride.
  • The major update in the second Fusium Run is the addition of Flexweave technology in the upper. With this feature, the upper is made more stretchable and more supportive than ever.
  • The rest of the shoe’s construction presents the same features and benefits that were present in the previous version.

Size and fit

The Reebok Fusium Run 2 offers a fit that is true-to-size; thus, runners can expect an accurate fit with their usual size preference. Like the previous release, the Fusium Run 2 is built to accommodate wearers who have low to moderate foot volumes, owing partially to the shoe’s anatomical shape. The Reebok Fusium Run 2 is available in Medium width for both the men’s and women’s versions.

Outsole

Carbon rubber is a trusted material when constructing outsoles of running shoes, and with the Fusium Run 2, it holds no exception. The rubber coverage provided by the outsole gives the shoe enough durability to withstand long runs, as well as sufficient traction to handle the urban surfaces with ease.

Midsole

A unit of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) foam makes up the midsole of the Reebok Fusium Run 2. The material guarantees a lightweight cushioning without sacrificing comfort. It comes in a full-length structure, which ensures equal impact absorption and energy distribution for a smooth ride. A comparable running shoe would be the Asics Gel Contend 4, which also features a plain EVA foam as its midsole.

Upper

The upper of the Reebok Fusium Run 2 is mainly composed of woven fabric that is integrated with the Flexweave technology. The Flexweave technology allows the weaving of the fabric to form a number 8 figure, which makes the upper more dynamic than the conventional mesh. This feature also provides more targeted support that results in better, more contoured fit compared to the uppers of other running shoes.

The quarter panels of the shoe overlap with the forefoot area and they act as the eyelets where the shoelaces are threaded into. Such a construction also aids in the support feature of the shoe.

The padded tongue is also equipped with Flexweave tech, and it gives additional comfort to the foot. It also serves as a protective element against irritation, therefore maintaining a cozy in-shoe feel.

There are pull-tabs located on the tongue and the heel area of the shoe, which contributes to the convenience when wearing the shoe.
