Who should buy
The ASICS Solution Swift FF 2 should be on your radar if:
- you need a super lightweight and agile tennis shoe
- you want a cheaper version of the ASICS Solution Speed FF 3
- you look for an entry-level shoe with excellent value for money
Who should NOT buy
If you are more of a baseline player or are prone to ankle rolls, you may need a more substantial shoe like the ASICS Gel Challenger 15.
And if you need an equally light and speedy shoe but with better breathability, check out the Nike Vapor Lite 3.
Amortiguación
Shock absorption
NuevoAs a speed-oriented shoe, the Solution Swift FF 2 cannot afford to pack a ton of cushioning, so the brand's lightweight FlyteFoam comes to the rescue.
Our shock absorption measurements confirmed that the shoe's FF midsole offers sufficient impact protection in both the heel (100 SA) and the forefoot (61 SA). With both measurements being on par with the average, we believe that this is a great cushioning-to-weight ratio.

Energy return
NuevoMuch like the brand's flagship Solution Speed FF shoe, the Solution Swift FF is built to provide a more grounded and intimate connection with the court for agile footwork.
There is virtually no propulsion or rebound in the shoe's midsole, which is reflected in its below-average energy return of 39.4% in the heel and 43.6% in the forefoot. It can even feel dead if you are coming from a shoe like the Nike Vapor Lite 3.

Altura de la suela en la zona del talón
ASICS didn't need to increase the Solution Swift FF's stack height to provide sufficient cushioning on hard court. Our caliper measured its heel stack at a regular 30.2 mm, which is no different from most tennis shoes.

Solution Swift FF 2 | 30.2 mm |
Media | 29.2 mm |
Altura de la suela en el antepié
The shoe's forefoot stack also proved to be comparable to the average at 19.3 mm. It's not too thin to hurt the toe joints, nor too thick to make you feel disconnected.

Solution Swift FF 2 | 19.3 mm |
Media | 19.5 mm |
Drop
As a result of its standard stack heights, the Solution Swift FF 2's drop also turned out to be average at 10.9 mm.
This offset keeps the heel slightly elevated above the toes for a more comfortable and ergonomic position that makes it easier to stay on your toes and plant the foot without straining the Achilles tendon.

Suavidad de la mediasuela
Comparing the shoe's FlyteFoam midsole softness to the category average, we found that it feels a bit more forgiving.
Our durometer showed a moderately soft reading of 25.1 HA, confirming that the Solution Swift FF 2 compresses just a little more than the typical tennis shoe. But it's not wobbly by any means.

Players with medium-sized feet are likely to feel at home in the Solution Swift FF 2. Our gel mold of the shoe's interiors confirmed that ASICS stayed true to size and width for this model.
The shoe's widest area returned a standard caliper reading of 92.0 mm. This aligns with the other tennis shoes we've tested in a men's US size 9 and D medium width.

The narrower part of the shoe's toebox also stayed within the medium range, showing 69.9 mm in the big toe area.

But please note that the top of the shoe's toebox sits pretty low to the toes.
Depending on your personal preferences and toe conditions (if any), the shoe's forefoot height of 22.6 mm can be either snug and secure or restrictive.

NuevoDisclaimer: In this review, we are testing the Padel version of the Solution Swift FF 2. Results may differ for the shoe's Hard Court and Clay versions.
The best way to describe the Solution Swift FF 2's outsole grip is that it's controlled and predictable. With a moderate friction coefficient of 0.53, this ASICS shoe offers just enough bite without sticking to the court.
We found it optimal for more fluid movements and gliding all over the court without speed loss.

Diseño de la suela exterior
NuevoJust like the ASICS Solution Speed FF 3, the Solution Swift features a two-piece rubber outsole that helps to shave off some weight and make the shoe more pliable.
In the Padel version, we can also see the signature criss-cross flex grooves that allow for easier movements in multiple directions.

Flexibilidad / Rigidez
The aforementioned flex grooves play their part in making the Solution Swift less stiff and more maneuverable.
Our shoe-bending test proved that it takes notably less force (15.2N) to bend this speedy ASICS shoe in the forefoot compared to the more stability-oriented options.

Peso
The Solution Swift FF 2 came very close to being the lightest tennis shoe in our roster!
Weighing it in a men's US size 9, our scale showed only 10.7 oz (302g), which is a little lighter than the Solution Speed FF 3 (10.9 oz/309g) and speed-oriented shoes from other brands.

Transpirabilidad
Even though its upper is primarily made of mesh, the Solution Swift FF 2 is not as breathable as it might seem.
You can see how thin and slow the smoke billows are in our ventilation test above. Or how non-transparent the shoe's upper is in the light test below.
That's because the shoe's upper is lined with a neoprene-like material from the inside, limiting the airflow to a minimum.
What's more, the mesh itself is made of thick threads and a high-density weave pattern.
All of this makes the ASICS Solution Swift FF 2 less than ideal for a hot summer match, earning a low breathability score of 2 out of 5.

Estabilidad
Prueba de estabilidad lateral
As the Solution Speed FF 3's takedown model, the Swift FF 2 has a similar approach to midfoot support and side-to-side stability. You can see how one silhouette resembles the other, especially in their soles.
Even though the Swift's TRUSSTIC support doesn't cover as much area as the Speed's SPEEDTRUSS, our lab tests confirmed that the former offers an equal amount of foot and ankle control for side-to-side movements.
Rigidez torsional
First and foremost, you can see it in the Solution Swift FF 2's torsional rigidity.
Twisting the shoe sideways proved to be nearly impossible in our manual test, so we rated the shoe with a maximum stiffness score of 5 out of 5.
Being able to lean into this steady midfoot support enhanced our cutting power and made aggressive direction changes feel faster and safer.

Rigidez del contrafuerte del talón
Although it looks so minimal and slender, this ASICS shoe actually packs a very stiff and unyielding heel counter!
Giving it a good squeeze in our manual test, our fingers met a ton of resistance, convincing us to give it a maximum stiffness score of 5/5.
The heel and ankle hold are phenomenal here.

Anchura de la mediasuela - antepié
The shoe's slimmer midsole shape is yet another indicator of its orientation towards speed and agility.
However, it's not so evident in the forefoot, where the Solution Swift FF 2 showed 109.4 mm in the widest area. It's not too wide to feel clunky but just enough to create a reliable lateral outrigger for safe side-to-side shifts, split steps, crossovers, and more.

Media | 111.8 mm |
Anchura de la mediasuela - talón
However, the shoe's speedier nature becomes more prominent in the heel, where our caliper recorded a below-average width of 85.4 mm.
In fact, these dimensions make the Solution Speed FF even a little slimmer than the Solution Speed FF 3.

Durabilidad
Durabilidad de la protección delantera
ASICS keeps the Solution Swift FF 2's toe drag protection to a minimum with a targeted PGuard patch on the inner side of the forefoot.
But that little guard is tougher than it seems! Its rubber resisted the abrasion of our Dremel very well, earning the shoe a high toe drag guard durability score of 4 out of 5.

Durabilidad de la parte delantera
The shoe's upper mesh also proved to be more hardwearing than it seems!
Sustaining a 12-second sandpaper drill, it ended up only moderately damaged and earned the shoe's toebox durability a middle-ground score of 3 out of 5.

Durabilidad del acolchado del talón
And the neoprene-ish textile inside the shoe's collar? Also maintained its integrity after contacting the Dremel, giving us a good reason to rate the shoe's heel padding durability as 4 out of 5.

Durabilidad de la suela
Disclaimer: In this review, we are testing the Padel version of the Solution Swift FF 2. Results may differ for the shoe's Hard Court and Clay versions.
After digging the sandpaper tip of our Dremel into the shoe's outsole for 18 seconds, we measured the dent at 0.9 mm. This is a solid result for a tennis shoe in this price range.

We were also pleased with the shoe's outsole thickness of 4.4 mm. Combined with the tough nature of its rubber, the Solution Swift FF 2 promises a long and happy lifespan.

Precio
The Solution Swift FF 2 has a lot to offer at such an affordable price point!
Priced 30$ cheaper than the brand's premium speed shoe (Solution Speed FF 3), our lab tests showed that the takedown model is not that inferior to its bigger brother.
