With a mesh upper that features exposed padding underneath a frayed nylon base, these shoes are comfortable and fit true to size. The rope laces can be adjusted to achieve a more preferred and personalized fit.
Moreover, the Nike Air Max 95 x CDG is only available in unisex sizing. For women who want to cop a pair of this luxury sneaker, it is advised to go one size down from one’s usual size.
Comme Des Garcons and Nike have collaborated yet again to create the Nike Air 95 x CDG. This stylish pair shows off an “unfinished”-style Air Max 95 that features subtle modifications to its overlay construction, in order to give a distinction between the collaborative model from its original aesthetics. As per Comme De Garcons’ objective, a more elegant tulle-esque fabric with distressed edges is used to trade off the traditional smooth leathers for a more reimagined effect. Furthermore, the raw-hem paneling is constructed with additional foam and fabric, which emphasizes the dynamic lines of the shoes.
Relative to their specific colorways, the tongues, eye stays and sole unit retain its clean look, which created a gradient effect among the available colorways in clean “Triple White’, a mixture of “Gray/Black/White” in tonal extremes, and the understated “Triple Black”. These trendy shoes are stylish enough to pair with basic pieces of clothing. One can go for a street style or casual ensemble, whichever one prefers to go for. Either way, one’s overall look will ooze of chic simplicity with the shoes on.
Aside from being a collaboration of the fashion brand, Comme Des Garcons, one of the most noticeable changes of the classic Air Max 95 silhouette is that it comes in the form of deconstructed side panels that present additional foam to highlight the shoe’s signature lines along with those excess fabric. Featuring a loose threading construction across the sneaker’s signature side panels, a work-in-progress look is achieved. With a contrasting suede toe cap and reflective 3M detailings that hit along the lacing eyelets and rear panels , this shoe will make one take a second look.
Additionally, a mixture of clear and filled classic Air Max 95’s sole units with embedded visible Air pods that remain at the heel and toe make the tonal colorways elevated. As for the branding elements, the Air Max logo can be seen on the tongue badges, with Nike Air markings at the rear and co-branding printed insoles. The traditional lace loops by Sergio Lozano is given a new take as three of the six lace loops have been brought forward and are subtly accented with reflective details.
In the early 1990s, basketball sneakers were Nike’s top priority. Michael Jordan’s sneaker sales were out of hand, and the rest of the Nike hoops roster read like an All-NBA team. In order to revitalize Nike's running division, Nike wanted to depart from the typical Air Max look and upgrade the design process from a fresh perspective. The Air technology was conceptualized by Tinker Hatfield, who initially worked for Nike.
However, Sergio Lozano was given the goal to do something with the shoes that have never been done before. When designing the 95, Lozano wanted to make a bold statement that presents an entirely new take on the sneaker. Featuring four waves of color fading from the light gray eyelets down to the black midsole, the gradient pattern was a concept developed by Lozano.

These two powerhouse brands have continued to work together to create some of the most covetable sneakers in Nike’s history. Until today, these brands have been cooking up something new to add to the collection.
