Size and fit

Sizing for Converse’s BB sneakers are only available for men. They run a little long so it is suggested for one to go down half a size. For the shoe’s fit, it is described as slightly narrow to normal.

The use of rope laces for the shoe’s fastening system can be adjusted to one’s preferred fit.

Converse Star Series BB Style

Ditching the traditional bulky basketball shoe style, the Converse x Star Series BB high-top sneaker has an intentionally sleek, minimalist design that’s well-suited for both pumped-up action on the court and for strolling around the streets of any city. Plus, it does not look out of place when worn off the court. This latest offering from Converse and Hatfield have designs that are refreshingly modern and surprisingly tough. Flaunting a lightweight Quadfit mesh upper, this helps to prevent overheating and for maximum airflow.

A color-popped, classic star Chevron logo graces the sidewall while the contrasting orange foxing and stitching at the heel and midfoot give the shoe a more appealing boost. Additionally,  the star and Chevron logo are made with reflective 3M material. Coming in various awesome colorways, these sneakers are available in black, pure platinum, and papyrus and mason both in archival camo prints. Due to its fashion-forward look, these sneakers can be styled with either casual or sports ensemble. A casual outfit that goes well with the shoes consists of a pair of relaxed jeans or chinos while topping it off with a plain shirt or polo shirt. As for a sporty outfit, one can go for jogger pants, a full-on basketball attire, or any sporty pieces that one is comfortable with wearing.

Notable Features

These Tinker Hatfield-designed sneakers are given some modern updates especially in the pair’s technology department. Tech-wise, a mesh upper with welded overlays makes up the tooling. With an open tongue construction, this gives the user a more elevated fit. An internal bootie is also added for an unparalleled, locked-in fit.

Offering robust cushioning, an OrthoLite footbed that sits atop Nike’s impact-resistant Cushlon both deliver all-day enhanced comfort and support. Furthermore, these technologies also feature enhanced responsiveness for wearers. At the bottom of these sneakers, the rubber outsole, with a modern take on the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star, features diamond textures for durability and traction while ensuring ample grip on any surface.

Converse Star Series BB History

In 1908, Marquis Mills Converse founded the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts. Soon after, the company adapted and started to use their rubber to make sneakers. Chucks always have their own authentic signature look with a nod to heritage sportswear and space travel.

Converse has been making Chuck Taylor All Star and One Star sneakers since it started over a century ago, and work to make new street style classics. The brand defines sport, street, and creative culture, and has been redefining it all these years. After several years, the shoes have become casual footwear for the streets until today. And, Chucks have always signified cool...because you wear them.

The brand is always evolving and has always come up with innovative and fresh designs for its consumers. Teaming up with Nike’s designer Tinker Hatfield, Converse continues to push into the future while pulling from the past in its Star Series collection. A part of this collection is the iteration of the Tinker Hatfield-designed Converse Star Series BB, a sport-inspired sneaker that combines its hoops history with Nike's latest innovation to create a simple silhouette that embodies Converse's future-familiar design with a focus on performance functionality built for the streets.
