Profile of the Adidas Explosive Bounce 2018

The Adidas Explosive 2018 is a low-top offering from Adidas. It features full-length Bounce that provides impact protection and court feel. Its upper is made of two-tone mesh with fuse overlays on high-wear spots. To support the player’s multidirectional movements, the outsole features a tread pattern that pretty much resembles crop circles with maze-like designs.

Performance

Cushion. The shoe features full-length Bounce, which is made thicker at the heel. As a result, much of its bounciness and impact protection properties are concentrated at the rear part. The forefoot provides significant court feel, making the shoe great for guards.

Traction. The rubber outsole of the Adidas Explosive Bounce 2018 features a unique tread pattern. It features several units of what looks like crop circles with maze-like concentrics. This pattern stabilizes the wearer’s multidirectional movements and quick direction changes.

Fit

Length and Width. The 2018 version of the Explosive Bounce is reportedly true to size. Hence, problems regarding fit are not expected.

Lockdown. Locking the foot down is not an issue for the Explosive Bounce 2018. Its traditional lacing system is reinforced with a strap near the ankle. The inside of the shoe has the innovative Geofit that gives the foot a nice and secure hug.

Material

The Adidas Explosive Bounce 2018 is largely made of two-tone mesh. This light and breathable material is overlaid with some synthetic on high-wear spots such as the toe, sides, and spaces around the lace holes.

Style

Because of its low cut and largely monochromatic appearance, the Explosive Bounce 2018 is great even for streamlined casual looks. It is best paired with city shorts, joggers, and pants. The shoe doesn’t have much branding save for the prominent Three Stripes on the strap and outsole. There is also a small Adidas logo on the tongue.
