Experience a lightweight, springy, and cushioned underfoot feel with the Nike Air Max 200 sneakers in men’s and women’s sizing. This running-inspired Swoosh kick flaunts a traditional mesh upper that contours your foot for a lightweight ride and breathable comfort. Throughout this mesh base material are layered suede and synthetic nubuck material overlays for additional support and sports-inspired aesthetics.
The tongue comes a bit chunkier than usual, which means more padding and supplemental in-shoe comfort to match the cushioned collar and insoles. Further securing the foot is a speed lacing system that consists of rounded laces, central tongue tab, and reinforced eyelets layered with leather patches. On the heel is a pull tab for easy entry.
Inspired by previous Air Max models, including the AM 180, the Nike Air Max 200 flaunts an old-school classic Air Max look from the '90s but fitting for a street-ready look of today.
Aside from the buzzing large heel Air Max bubble, the details on the uppers would make you think that the AM200 sneakers are designed to draw attention. It has a mesh base material with suede and synthetic overlays throughout the forefoot, sides, eye stays, and heel.
For most colorways of the Nike Air Max 200 like the royal pulse, mystic green, and multicolor, the uppers exhibit a bold color blocking that seals off a retro aesthetic. On the other hand, the Nike Air Max 200 black and other muted colorways such as vast grey, dusty cactus, university red, and more, give out a more versatile yet still classic appearance.
The Nike Air Max 200 is a lifestyle model with noteworthy features and street-ready aesthetics. While the uppers flaunt an eye-catching design, the sole unit proves that it deserves the attention as well.
Nike Air Max enthusiasts often compare this shoe to the Nike Air Max 180 because of its familiar Air unit in the heel and the shape of the midsole. However, this new AM flaunts a bigger Air bubble than the AM180 and other classics such as the AM1 and AM90, but not as prominent as the AM270 and AM720. This new Max Air unit provides 200% more Air underfoot for improved cushioning and comfort. Under the Max Air unit is a translucent rubber for an impressive profile.
The Air Max 200 from Nike also features Cushlon foam, which also functions for underfoot cushioning. The exposed foam in the sole contributes to a lightweight ride and increased flexibility.
One of today’s biggest sneaker brands is Nike. It is a sportswear company initially known as the Blue Ribbon Sports which was founded by Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman on January 25, 1964. It is currently based in Beaverton, Oregon with international headquarters in China and Europe.
Nike is the brand that introduced the revolutionary Air cushioning technology in sneakers. In 1987, renowned footwear designer Tinker Hatfield made the Air technology visible by creating the Nike Air Max 1 – an innovative Swoosh model that pioneered the Nike Air Max line.
A new Air Max shoe with 200% more Air cushioning
In July 2019, Nike introduced a new addition to its famed Air Max line called the Nike Air Max 200. The running-inspired silhouette boasts a classic Air Max aesthetic and features, primarily a Max Air unit in the heel for a sports-inspired look and cushioned comfort. It also features lightweight and breathable mesh base uppers with no-sew skins and TPU frame, a speed lace system, and signature Swoosh brandings.
The design of the Nike AM 200 takes inspiration from the earlier (and crowd-favorite) Air Max models. In particular, its midsole shape and Air bubble somehow mimics the Air Max 180 but with a larger Max Air unit in the heel that offers 200% more Air underfoot cushioning.
- The Nike Air Max 200 also features a full heel-to-toe rubber coverage on the outsole for optimum durability and traction.
- Classic Swoosh brandings dress the sidewalls, toe box, and heel pull tab.
