Mizuno's consistent Wave cushioning
The Mizuno Wave Prodigy 2 uses the Parallel Wave Technology in the shoe’s midsole. It uniformly disperses shock throughout the sole while providing excellent cushioning and enhanced stability. This Wave technology also offers flexibility and absorbs impact without compromising comfort.
Also featured in the shoe’s midsole are both the U4ic and U4icX midsole technologies. The lightweight U4ic predominantly makes up the Wave Prodigy 2’s midsole area while the U4icX resides in the heel area and is a light evolutionary midsole material that delivers a more comfortable ride with higher rebound.
Lastly, the Mizuno Smoothride technology in the midsole is a brilliant engineering approach to lessen the rapid changes with the speed of the foot during runs, delivering the smoothest ride possible.
Lightweight comfort of the upper
The 2nd version of the Mizuno Wave Prodigy incorporated a Jacquard Mesh upper as it is extremely lightweight and comfortable. It allows great breathability throughout the shoe by regulating the foot’s temperature.
The shoe's upper also features a hotmelt execution of overlays that do not only add character to the shoe but also increase comfort. The overlays interlock with the shoe’s traditional lacing system to help provide that securely locked-in feeling for the foot.
For additional protection and comfort, a mesh component is also added to the collar and tongue.
Hard-wearing rubber of the Prodigy 2
Powering the Wave Prodigy 2’s outsole is the X10 outsole technology. It is a durable carbon rubber that allows longer wear in high-impact areas, and it supplements traction at heel strike.
The X10’s innovative compound guarantees efficient traction in all types of road surfaces and boosts one’s running experience to an optimal level.
Also linked between the outsole and midsole is Mizuno’s Intercool system. It is a full-length ventilation system that lessens heat and humidity build-up inside the footwear, making the feet stay cool and dry.
