Updates to KEEN Oakridge Mid Waterproof

  • KEEN markets the Oakridge Mid Waterproof as an all-purpose hiking boot with an emphasis on stability, cushioning and traction. Its nubuck leather upper is backed by a KEEN.Dry liner for protection against wet trail conditions.
  • This footgear comes with a compression-molded ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) midsole for cushioning. Underneath is the non-marking rubber outsole that features an aggressive pattern and 4mm lugs for multi-directional grip.

Size and fit

The KEEN Oakridge Mid Waterproof is available for male and female hikers in standard width. It is offered in a range of whole and half sizes. The boot generally runs true to size. Its lace-up closure system grants a personalized lockdown to the wearer.

Outsole

The Oakridge Mid Waterproof from KEEN uses a non-marking rubber outsole to render traction on wet and dry surfaces. It includes a network of 4mm multi-directional lugs which bite into various ground conditions. The outsole’s heel and forefoot areas contain grooves which provide improved descent and ascent control.

Midsole

The boot uses a compression-molded EVA midsole for lightweight cushioning and rebound. It also features a thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) shank to deliver rigidity and support.

This lightweight footgear comes with a removable metatomical EVA footbed. Its design grants arch support and underfoot comfort. It is shaped with an emphasis on the natural contours of the foot. Moreover, this component is coated with Cleansport NXT technology to prevent microbes from producing foul odors.

Upper

KEEN’s Oakridge Mid Waterproof features an upper made of nubuck leather overlays and mesh panels. This combination makes this boot sturdy and lightweight. A KEEN.Dry membrane lines the upper to prevent water from being absorbed. It also functions by allowing moisture to escape from inside the shoe.

The boot’s hydrophobic mesh lining helps wick moisture away. A pair of pull loops is found on the footgear’s tongue and collar to facilitate an easy on and off. These same components are also padded to promote comfort. The front is a closure system that consists of combination eyelets and a round lace.
