Size and fit
With the utilization of the lace-up closure system, this running shoe is sure to provide a snug and comfortable fit. Because of this feature of the Ultra Traction, a more enjoyable ride is experienced by the runner. Along with the lacing system is the Ortholite® Hybrid ™ footbed. When compared to the Saucony Triumph ISO 5 that uses the Tri-Flex Crystal rubber compound, the Dual-density outsole is integrated into the North Face Ultra Traction. This outsole material works well together with the Proprietary EXTS™ traction system and pronounced lugs to deliver superior stability. This component of the shoe also aims to provide added durability.

Together with the Energy-returning FastFoam™ midsoles is the OrthoLite® Hybrid™ footbed. This feature of the running shoe is described to be a combination of 15% production-waste foam and 5% recycled rubber. This footbed is meant to deliver lightweight cushioning as well as moisture management with 20% eco-content.
The North Face Ultra Traction uses the supportive mesh upper. This material is essential in covering the toes, back, top, and sides of the foot during the running session.
