  • The brand attempts to maximize a barefoot-like experience in its new Motus II Mesh. The shoe builds on the success of its acclaimed predecessor, the Vivobarefoot Motus, inheriting the minimalist construction of its sole unit. It caters to all sorts of cross-training regimens both indoors and outdoors.
  • The upper features a new mesh material in the midfoot and forefoot sections as well as the medial side of the collar. Its ventilation pores are made significantly wider, increasing breathability and weightlessness of the unit. The mesh is fused with the TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane) overlays for a lightweight and seamless support.
  • Moderate padding is provided by a removable 3-mm insole. The Pro5 outsole still lines the bottom of the trainer for grip and protection.

The Vivobarefoot Motus II Mesh can be obtained in both men’s and women’s sizes: US 7 to 15 for men and US 5.5 to 11.5 for women. Widthwise, the trainer accommodates average foot dimensions with a D - Medium profile available for male users and a B - Medium width for ladies.

The Motus II Mesh employs the patented Pro5 material for its outsole unit. This compound is engineered to be ultra-thin yet reliable in terms of protection. Made of tough rubber, it is claimed to be five times more resistant to punctures than a regular rubber sole of the same thickness. It was created with gym floors, urban surfaces, and sports’ courts in mind.

Hexagonal lugs of various sizes cover the entire length of the outsole. They ensure durability and grip without hindering the natural flexibility of the foot.

A large portion of the outsole extends up on the medial side. It protects the upper against the wear and tear of rope climbing. The rubber also encapsulates the heel and the toe box, creating a protective bumper.

This minimalist workout shoe only uses a 3-mm foam insole for cushioning. It can be easily removed for a more sensitive ground contact. The Vivobarefoot Motus II Mesh is described as a “vegan insole”, which implies that it was manufactured using animal-free products and processes.  

A zero-drop heel-to-toe differential places the foot evenly on the ground. This disposition renders a natural underfoot experience, giving the wearer more control over the platform.

A fusion of TPU and open mesh makes up the upper unit of the Motus II Mesh. A firm yet lightweight TPU material gives structure and support in the key areas, while the mesh panels ventilate the foot chamber. The mesh material of the trainer incorporates the fibers made of recycled PET bottles.

Securing the fit is the single-pull bungee lace. It can be easily adjusted to suit the wearer’s preference and expand with the foot when needed.

A hook-and-loop V-strap is placed on top of the lacing system. It further secures the locked-down fit in the midfoot.
