  • The Vionic Saffron is a walking shoe meant to be worn through long periods of walking and standing. The shoe features a lightweight and durable mesh and man-made overlays for a supportive upper that still allows flexibility for the foot to flex. It promotes ventilation throughout the foot chamber as well.
  • The model has a detachable orthotic insole. Specially designed by a podiatrist, it is crafted to be firm and responsive to cradle and protect the foot from impact and enhance steadiness during movements.
  • It has a midsole made from EVA. It provides another layer of stability and shock absorption.
  • The construction of the shoe is based on the proprietary blueprint of the Advanced Motion System (AMS) technology. It consists of the lightweight and breathable upper, the podiatrist-designed orthotic, and the flexible and cushioned outsole for optimal support for all-day wear.

The Vionic Saffron follows the standard shoe sizing scheme and biomechanics of women. The available sizes run the full gamut, from US 6 to 11 with half sizes in between. The shoe comes in a couple of width options, which is the B - Medium and D - Wide. The brand recommends that the footwear should only be worn for just a few hours for the first few days to allow the feet to grow accustomed to the orthotics. It should be done for the first two weeks of use.

The outsole of the Vionic Saffron is characterized by flexibility and cushioning to promote natural foot flexion and shield the foot against impact. It is part of the AMS technology design of the model to keep the foot supported throughout the day.

The midsole of the Vionic Saffron is created to be firm but flexible, thanks to its EVA material. It renders stability to the shoe, which steadies the foot during various movements to prevent wobbling.

The removable orthotic is specially designed by a podiatrist for comfort and support. It is described to be firm and responsive to boost stability. It works together with the outsole and the upper to create the AMS technology that the model’s design is based on.

The Vionic Saffron features a lightweight mesh fabric with textile lining for its upper. It gives a comfortable, flexible, and breathable sensation on the foot.

Synthetic overlays reinforce the sides and the heel areas for support. It is intended to keep the foot steady and inhibit unwanted heel slippage.

Its closure is the traditional lace-up layout. It keeps the foot locked down. When the shoelaces are tightened, they also fortify the sides to enhance lateral support.
