Updates to Vasque Skywalk GTX
- Vasque re-released the old-school Skywalk GTX with revisions using the latest technology of today. Its proven and much-loved leather upper design now comes in contemporary colorways. The boot is also made waterproof by a Gore-Tex lining.
- For support and comfort, this classic hiking boot features a lightweight polyurethane midsole that provides long-lasting cushioning and underfoot stability. Its original rubber traction sole offers grip on different types of terrain. The sole unit comes with a rockered heel. It promotes natural foot transition and stability on the trail.
Size and fit
The Vasque Skywalk GTX is a mid-cut boot that caters to both genders. It’s available in regular and half sizes, as well as medium and wide width variations. It’s built on the Sundowner Classic last which has a low-profile and straight-line angle that delivers durability and comfort. The traditional lace-up closure creates a snug fit. The Skywalk GTX generally runs true to size.
Traction comes from Vasque’s proprietary Pyrenees rubber sole. Gaining its original ‘80s structure, the Skywalk GTX outsole is designed with an aggressive, mud-clearing lug pattern. Its prevention of gunk buildup keeps the wearer from slipping.
The Vasque Skywalk GTX’s midsole and footbed are made of molded polyurethane. This cushioning material absorbs impact and facilitates an energized toe-off.
A TPU shank is placed in the midfoot area. This component creates torsional rigidity, rendering stability and gait control.
The Skywalk GTX upper combines mesh and the 2.4-millimeter, waterproof, rough-out S.B. Foot leather. The former is abrasion resistant, and the latter is a material that will not break down or rot easily,
The Gore-Tex Extended Comfort membrane lines the inner bootie. This non-insulated technology inhibits wet elements from infiltrating while allowing heat and moisture to escape.
Its collar and tongue are padded to give the ankles comfort. Its traditional closure is made up of flat laces and metal combination eyelets.
