The Vans Washed Authentic Slim is a classic silhouette with a casual character that would suit both men and women. Sizes available range from 4 to 11.5. Women can get their equivalent shoe size by going down a size and a half from their usual size since the sizing available is based on men’s shoe measurements. The shoes are cut narrow which might make it too snug for wide-footed users.

The Vans Washed Authentic Slim sneakers have an effortless cool factor that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion, whether matched with men’s or women’s clothing. Khaki shorts and pants, jeans, skirts, and dresses would be perfectly complemented with these head-turning kicks.

The Vans Washed Authentic Slim retains the heritage-style of the original silhouette but has been updated with a sleeker cut, higher soles, and stone-washed canvas uppers. The simple yet classic styling keeps heads turned but more noteworthy is the comfortability the shoes afford the wearer who can use these kicks for more than just fashion.

In 1966, brothers Paul and Jim van Doren started the Vans company along with two other business partners. The company was one of a kind in that they would take shoe orders in the morning, manufacture them that same day, and hand them over to the customer in the afternoon. In the very same year that they opened, they introduced the #44 Deck shoe which is now known as the Authentic.

In the 70s, the brand was slowly but surely gaining recognition among skateboarders. Skate enthusiasts liked the sticky soles and the durable construction of the silhouettes Vans produced. Further strengthening the hold of the brand on the skateboarding and lifestyle markets was the inclusion of the Vans Classic Slip-Ons in Sean Penn’s movie, Fast Times at Ridgemont High.

Although the company has released numerous other silhouettes since 1966, the popularity of the Authentic has remained unabated. The original silhouette continues to be sold and has also been reworked in different Authentic iterations such as the Authentic Pro, Authentic Slim, and the Washed Authentic Slim.

  • The Vans Washed Authentic Slim low-top sneakers feature durable stitched and stone-washed canvas uppers, metal eyelet lacing system, and Vans’ signature rubber waffle outsoles that are vulcanized.
  • The shoes come with regular laces and extra leather ones.
