The history of the iconic silhouette of SK8-Hi started when the company attempted to address the wear and tear issue caused by performing skateboarding tricks. Hence, the Style 36 or the Old Skool was born in 1977. However, the Old Skool was not enough for it did not give the ankle protection that skateboarders required. So, therefore, the Style 37 emerged. It was the Old Skool with a mid-top silhouette by which was launched in 1977. Yet, this model was not enough to meet the needs.

In 1978, finally, the Style 38, a sneaker with a high-top silhouette, was released in the market. Currently, it was famously called the SK8-Hi. This sneaker is built with sturdy leather and canvas upper that provides sufficient and support. It has gum outsoles with the waffle tread pattern for excellent traction.
