The most notable feature of this pair is its one-piece, stitchless upper that's constructed through the Rapidweld technology. Lastly, all of these sit on a vulcanized outsole.

Born in 1966, brothers Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren with their business partners Gordon Lee and Serge D'Ella founded the Van Doren Rubber Company. More popularly known today as Vans, the brand set out to be a retail business that manufactured casual shoes. But due to the grippy soles of their shoes, a skateboarding clientele started to adapt their shoes. Vans responded to the clamor by creating more footwear that catered to the demands of skateboarding.

Since then Vans has become known as a brand rooted in skateboarding. Countless pro skateboarders have helped in designing and creating shoes for better performance in the sport. One of the many pro shoe models is the Vans AV Rapidweld Pro Lite. It is a signature model made in partnership with the brand's global team rider Anthony Van Engelen, also known as 'AVE' in the skate world.

AVE contributes his love for skateboarding to a six-month stay in Russia where he didn't get to skateboard, and by the time he got back to the US he found a new passion for the sport. In 1999, after just four years since he got back, AVE turned pro for Alien Workshop, and eventually became an official rider for Vans in 2005. He also has a couple of awards under his belt such as Skater of the Year in 2015 and best video part of the year in the skate film "Mine Field."

AVE has a number of signature shoes with Vans - all of them donning a sleek, minimal, and smart style. But one of his most famous shoes is the Vans AV Rapidweld range, which boasts of advanced technologies and design. The latest iteration, the Vans AV Rapidweld Pro Lite, features mesh and leather materials hence making it lighter than its predecessors.

  • It is equipped with the LUXLINER inner glove lining that gives enhanced comfort.
  • The shoe’s Pro Vulc Lite construction provides responsive durability and lightweight feel.
