Brothers Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren along with two other friends Gordon Lee and Serge Delia, founded the Van Doren Rubber Company on March 6, 1966, in Anaheim, California. That same year, a classic design was born which is now popularly known as the Vans Authentic also known as the Vans Style #44.
