Under Armour Threadborne Slingflex Speckle History

Since it was established in 1996, Under Armour has been releasing footwear by incorporating the latest materials and innovation. Finding a niche market in performance shoes, Under Armour has steadily grown into a global brand in a little over 20 years. This growth started when Under Armour’s founder Kevin Plank first released his Heatgear shirt after engaging in extensive research of synthetic fibers.

However, it took Under Armour some ten years since it was founded by Plank to engage in the shoemaking business. Initially, the company produced cleats for softball, baseball, and lacrosse. Soon they diversified into more shoe categories like running and basketball shoes.

As part of the brand’s 20th anniversary, Under Armour launched its lifestyle performance shoes combining both style and performance technologies. Designs that came out in 2016 that became bestsellers included the Threadborne, Charged, Street Encounter and Moda series of footwear.

The Under Armour Threadborne Slingflex Speckle Style is part of the Threadborne series of shoes released in 2016. The UA Threadborne Slingflex Speckle is a variation of the original design released in 2017 after the success of the new footwear silhouette intended for men. The performance running sneaker comes with speckled accents on the midsole making the shoe even more fashionable and ready to pair with any casual wear.

The Under Armour Threadborne Slingflex Speckle has a snug fit as it runs right to size. It comes in medium width while the sockliner aids in fitting to the shape of the foot. A flat lacing system is in place for a secure fitting while a removable Micro G sockliner takes the form of the feet. The men’s lifestyle sneaker has available sizes ranging from size 7 to 13.

Notable Features

Most prominent among the features of the Under Armour Threadborne Slingflex Speckle is the Threadborne upper with Dyneema fibers, known to be the world’s most durable fiber that promotes durability while the sneaker remains breathable with the compression-like fit. Also noteworthy in the design is the removable, molded Micro G sockliner that bends to the shape of the foot offering better cushioning. A two-piece Charged bi-density cushioning system also adds to its innovative features combining soft and hard foam for an improved cushioning and support.
