Released in 2016,  the Rocket 2 is another hit from Under Armour. It is a budget-friendly model that offers solid performance on the court. If the Curry 6 comes with full-length HOVR, the Rocket 2 has the Micro G technology in both the insole and the midsole. The rubber outsole has the herringbone traction, which is considered one of the best traction patterns on sports shoes.

Cushion. The responsiveness of the Rocket 2 comes from the Micro G technology in the midsole and insole. The insole of the shoe model is a thin and lightweight full-length foam that molds to the foot.

The midsole is a Micro G foam designed to absorb impact and provide bounciness for explosive multidirectional footwork. This kind of foam from Under Armour is 30% thinner than common foams being used in the market, giving it the capacity to provide a good court feel.

Traction. Most companies experiment with different traction patterns; but in the end, they all go back to the classic and basic herringbone. The design of the Rocket 2 matches the simplicity and effectiveness of the herringbone pattern on the outsole. Carved on a solid one-piece rubber, this pattern works well for both indoor and outdoor plays.

Length and Width. Under Armour creates shoe lines that are true to size. However, the Rocket 2 is said to run longer and wider than most shoe models in the market. A lot of reviewers recommend this shoe to users who struggle to find models that fit wider feet.

As for buyers with normal-sized feet, it is recommended that they go half a size down. If they want to stick to their size, they can opt to double their socks for a better fit.

Lockdown. To secure the foot, the mesh tongue of the Under Armour Rocket 2 is created to fold over the top of the shoe. As stated on the website of Under Armour, the “Burrito Tongue” creates a one-bootie construction, which hugs the ankle well.

The shoe has oval shoelaces that can be adjusted to obtain the desired snugness.

The materials used on the upper of the Under Armour Rocket 2 are synthetic leather and foam. The flexible leather has engineered perforations that provide enough breathability to the foot. The molded foam in the inner of the shoe gives more comfort and support to the foot.

The Under Armour Rocket 2 has a simple and unique style. The upper leather has geometrical designs that give an artful look to the shoe. Under Armour logos are located on the heel counter, outsole, and lateral side of the shoe. As an added accent to the shoe, the heel counter has a zigzag design with a spaced see-through mesh overlay. This shoe model also comes in several colorways.

Many wearers enjoy rocking the Under Armour Rocket 2 on and off the court because of the attractively unique geometric designs on its upper. Buyers have multiple colorways to choose from:

  • Black/ Gray/ Orange
  • Black/ White
  • Black/ Gray/ Yellow
  • Navy Blue/ Red/ White
  • Red/ White
  • White/ Light Blue/ Black
  • White/ Team Royal
