For a performance shoe, the Rock Deltas are definitely not gonna be replacing my Nano 6 or my Metcon 3, but I definitely think they are a cool shoe.

Updates to Under Armour Project Rock Delta

  • Designed in partnership with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, the Under Armour Project Rock Delta is meant for rigorous athletic regimens. This model banks on the success of the brand’s Highlight Delta running shoe, inheriting its style and technologies. The only distinctive features of the Project Rock Delta are the Brahma Bull logo on the heel as well as the updated colorways. The more recent trainer which was designed in cooperation with "the Rock" is the Under Armour Project Rock 1.
  • The midsole utilizes the Charged Cushioning system which comprises of two layers. A softer foam layer is placed on top of a denser EVA compound to offer a balance of comfort and stability.

Under Armour Project Rock Delta size and fit

The Under Armour Project Rock Delta caters to male athletes. The sizes range from 7 to 15 and typically run true to the sizing scheme. The shoe also follows standard measurements in terms of width and is offered in a D – Medium profile. The toe box is designed to be spacious to allow for a natural toe-splay.

Outsole

The Project Rock Delta employs solid rubber patches in the areas that are most prone to abrasion. Their textured design also contributes to the traction capability of the outsole.

The deep flex grooves in the forefoot make sure that the flexibility of the foot is not hindered during the constantly varied training activities.

Midsole

The brand’s proprietary Charged Cushioning system makes up the midsole unit of this workout shoe. It is a two-piece construction with a soft foam compound on top of a dense EVA layer. The softer piece offers comfort and cushioning, while the harder one ensures support and stability.

Upper

A ribbed collar extends up to wrap the ankle in a supportive, yet non-restricting way. A plush foam material inside the collar contributes to the comfortable fit.

The molded heel cup is added to create firmer support in the rearfoot. It is meant to prevent the heel from wobbling, especially during weight training.

The lacing system is complemented by the deeply-cut eyestays to make the upper more adjustable to the movement of the foot.
