With over two decades in existence as an apparel maker since 1996, Under Armour only started making footwear some ten years later in 2006 that the company expanded its product line to include footwear. The company started then by 23-year-old Kevin Plank as a manufacturer of Heatgear shirts has diversified their offerings into footwear for sports such as football cleats and later on for other sports like baseball, lacrosse, and basketball.

Showing that is an active player in the footwear industry, Under Armour has shaken industry giants and leaped from being a virtually unknown athletic shoe brand from Baltimore, Maryland into a billion dollar company registering some $3.96 billion in revenues two decades after it was founded. The company now employs more than 11,000 employees worldwide with more than 20 global offices in North America, South America, Europe and Asia.

In 2016, the company started rolling out comfortable lifestyle sneakers for women. The company released two silhouettes that include the Women’s Charged Pivot and the Street Precision.
