[T]hese have been great hiking around the local trails outside of Santa Fe after work.
I like the design, the style, the way they fit, everything about them. I'm just a little bit concerned with overall, long-term durability.
The biggest selling point for these boots is just how lightweight and comfortable they are to wear.
Updates to Under Armour Newell Ridge Mid GTX
- Under Armour designed the Newell Ridge Mid GTX hiking boot to be lightweight and flexible. Its design is inspired by Steph Curry's basketball sneaker. It uses a tight weave textile lined with a Gore-Tex laminate for a durable, breathable and waterproof upper. A synthetic toe cap and TPU heel cup add protection and stability, respectively.
- It uses a Michelin Wild Dig Decent’R outsole with the Michelin Outdoor Compound. It gives users the traction they need on most terrain.
- A dual-density EVA foam with Charged Cushioning feature delivers a comfortable ride. It is partnered with an Ortholite insole for optimal cushioning.
Under Armour Newell Ridge Mid GTX size and fit

The Newell Ridge Mid GTX has an abrasion-resistant Michelin outsole. It features the Wild Dig Decent’R, an all-weather lug pattern that prevents dirt accumulation. It is also built using Outdoor Compound which renders optimal traction on boggy trails and even on flat surfaces.
This mid-cut day hiking boot uses a dual-density EVA that’s powered by the footwear brand’s Charged Cushioning technology. It renders a responsive and comfortable ride by absorbing impacts on every stride.
An Ortholit sockliner, equipped with anti-odor technology, is added to the boot. Aside from long-lasting cushioning, this insole also helps keep the foot dry and fresh through its breathability and moisture management.
The upper of the Newell Ridge Mid GTX uses a lightweight yet durable, tightly woven textile. It is lined with a Gore-Tex Extended Comfort Footwear technology which promotes breathability through its non-insulated construction. This laminate also protects against water penetration.
This boot is designed with a synthetic toe cap for protection. A heel cradle made of TPU grants stability and a pull loop renders a hassle-free on and off.
