The UA Highlight Ace has seen a complete overhaul. In this iteration, the top sports a new material and construction to deliver a more sock-like fit. For the bottom layer, though it still uses a non-marking rubber, the tread pattern has been updated for better traction.
On the upside, the midsole technology on this Under Armour volleyball trainer remains unchanged for superior shock-attenuation and energy return.
If you find the top of this Under Armour volleyball trainer to be too high, but love the ankle support, check out the Netburner Ballistic FF MT from Asics. This trainer sports a mid-top silhouette that is high enough to securely hold the ankle but does not diminish its range of motion. It also has a responsive cushioning unit, a high-traction outsole, and a breathable mesh top for comfort.
A heel-to-toe rubber covers the underside of this volleyball shoe. The grip of this compound is enhanced by the herringbone tread pattern. It is also non-marking, so you won’t have to worry about leaving ugly streaks on the smooth, polished floor.
A full-length Charged Cushioning unit provides this volleyball shoe with shock-absorbing qualities. It lessens the impact felt during running and jumping. This midsole technology is also bouncy, delivering higher jumps without straining the leg muscles too much.
The midsole is also built to stabilize the foot. It extends upwards to the sides of the midfoot for controlled lateral movements.
Inside the UA Highlight Ace 2.0 is a molded sockliner. This thin layer provides maximum foothold and comfort by molding to the shape of the foot.
The Under Armour Highlight Ace 2.0 sports a high-top silhouette. It is made of a fully-knitted fabric that is lightweight and breathable for comfort. There is also a mesh panel that aids in ventilating the interior.
Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) overlays are present on the toe and sides of the ankle. They protect the underlying fabric against abrasion. They also help with foot containment and ankle support.
The collar has a stretchy component that assists in easy on and off action. Meanwhile, there’s a fabric loop attached to the outside of the collar. It can be used to widen the opening to pull the shoe on faster.
The sock-like construction of the upper delivers a snug fit. Meanwhile, the lacing system allows wearers to tighten the fit if needed.
