Profile

The Under Armour Charged Commit 2 is an update to the warmly accepted Commit trainer. It inherits the Charged midsole of its predecessor but gives it a more streamlined shape. This cushioning technology has also been extensively used in other highly-rated workout shoes from Under Armour.

The shoe widens the brand’s collection of budget-friendly footwear. It has all the components of an all-around workout shoe for daily training. Its austere style and colorways will best suit people looking for a muted and unfussy design.

Outsole

Grippy protection. The Charged Commit 2 sports a full-length rubber outsole to ensure durability and traction throughout the entire base. However, it comprises of two parts to give more wear-resistance in the heel area and a stronger grip in the forefoot. The heel portion of the rubber also extends up on both sides to guard the midsole foam during rope climbs.

Midsole

The acclaimed Charged Cushioning. Initially used in the brand’s running footwear, the Charged technology has made its way into its training array as well. The brand states that it “absorbs impact and converts it into a responsive burst.” The fact that training shoes with this technology receive mostly positive feedback from the users is proving it to be true.

Extra comfort sockliner. In addition to the main cushioning unit, the shoe also features a padded sockliner. It is designed to take the shape of the foot to prevent undesirable slippage. It also has a moisture-wicking characteristic to keep the foot fresh during tough workouts. Please note that the sockliner is not removable.

Upper

Light and breathable upper. The base layer of the upper is made of the ArmourVent mesh. Its large ventilation pores make sure that the foot breathes well inside the trainer. The interiors of the foot chamber are also lined with a breathable fabric lining for an enhanced effect.

Midfoot lockdown. A synthetic leather material forms a supportive cage around the heel and the midfoot. It extends up to the tongue and forms two pairs of eyelets. It helps to secure the fit around the ankle.

Heel support. An external heel counter reinforces the rearfoot. Made of strong yet lightweight TPU, it eliminates the undesirable side-to-side sliding of the foot.
