Under Armour Charged All-Around Speedknit History

A former soccer player at the University of Maryland, Kevin Plank, founded Under Armour in 1996. The initiative of the company was to produce a T-shirt that helps the athletes solve their sweat problems as Plank himself wasn’t in favor of changing multiple times during practice or game training. The struggle of dealing with sweat drenched clothes was what pushed Plank to pursue his plan. He then created a shirt that would help athletes regulate their body temperature as it also helps them increase their performance.

In 2006, Under Armour embarked on creating footwear. Their new product at that time was introduced through the Click-Clack campaign. It was the soccer cleats that was the first product that the brand released and as it was a success, they moved on to creating softball, baseball, and lacrosse cleats. Under Armour then released their performance trainer line in 2008 and it was what lead the brand into having an admission into the athletic footwear market.

The success of the footwear line of the Under Armour continued as they also produced more products under the line. The Under Armour All-Around Charged Speedknit is one of the products from Under Armour. It is a low-top silhouette that is exclusive for women. The design of the shoe displays a unique placement of the lacing system.
