Good to know
Referred to as an active sneaker by the brand, this walking shoe mixes casual and athletic vibes in its construction. It is crafted to accommodate the active lifestyle of a modern woman who is constantly on the go.
This Vionic trainer will also bring joy to the fans of slip-on walking footwear. It sports a large shoe opening to let the foot slip in and out with ease, while a hook-and-loop strap with a Velcro patch locks down the fit.
Durable rubber components are present at the bottom of the Vionic Aimmy. However, they are only limited to the heel and forefoot areas where grip and protection are most needed. This design helps to prioritize lightness and flexibility as there is no heavy rubber to weigh the foot down or impede its flexion.
The core technology of this Vionic trainer is the Advanced Motion System (AMS). Designed in collaboration with the podiatry specialists, it features an orthotic EVA footbed that keeps the foot supported and naturally aligned. Underneath it is a cushioned and flexible sole unit which promotes unimpeded foot movement throughout the walk.
Because of the shoe’s orthopedic design, it may take some time to get used to the new type of support. Thus, the brand recommends wearing a new pair of Vionic trainers for just a few hours on the first couple of days to let the foot adjust. It is also stated that the footwear should feel fully comfortable within one to two weeks of use.
The Vionic Aimmy is equipped with a textured knit upper which brings casual vibes to the style of the shoe. It has been reinforced with thick synthetic overlays on the sides and around the heel, enhancing the durability aspect.
On the sides, these overlays get integrated into the trainer’s closure system to help in keeping the foot in place. This model uses a hook-and-loop fastener with a Velcro patch at the end to provide a fast and easy fit adjustment.
