Size and fit

The Vans Sport is a unisex sneaker that is available in men's sizes only. For a better fit, getting one size and a half down is recommended for the ladies who want to get a pair. It has a low top design, which is responsible for giving the feet more freedom of movement. It also holds the feet better and provides plenty of support because of the soft but durable suede upper. The snugness of the shoe can be adjusted since it has the traditional lace-up closure.

Vans Sport Style

The Vans Sport is a retro sneaker that is more of a lifestyle shoe rather than a skateboarding shoe. For some, it looks similar to the Vans Old Skool, but for the biggest fans of Vans, they can see that it is a new model based on the Vans Anaheim Factory 73 silhouette.

This low top sneaker can be worn with many attires, and it goes well with different ensembles. Due to its versatility, this pair can be easily dressed up or down, depending on your style. However, it is most often paired with a chill weekend vibe. For both men and women, this shoe can be worn with ankle socks or high socks, then pair it with skinny jeans or ripped jeans and a t-shirt with a denim jacket over it or a sweatshirt for a street look.

It is also safe to keep in mind that the pair has a simple, straightforward design, and following a minimally designed outfit to match the footwear can give a relaxed, contemporary look.

Notable Features

This Vans sneaker boasts a retro lace-up style on sturdy suede uppers. The collars of the Vans Sport are low and padded, which makes it comfortable to wear. The brand’s mark on this pair is a truncated V side stripe and its brand name on its tongue, which boasts a bold and oversized text. The Vans Sport is no different from the other Vans shoes in terms of its outsoles since it kept its signature vulcanized waffle sole that is responsible for excellent traction.

Vans Sport History

When Paul Van Doren decided that school was not for him, his mother forced him to work by making shoes at Randy’s. Starting from the bottom, he climbed to becoming the vice president after working at Randy’s for 20 years. Randy’s, at that time, has become one of the largest shoe manufacturing companies in the United States.

While continuously growing in general, one of Randy’s branches was losing a lot of money. Paul Van Doren, along with his brother and long time friend, was tasked to fix the problem. After turning the situation of the said branch, it started performing even better than the main branch. At this point, Paul Van Doren decided to take on the challenge of opening his brand.

Most recognized for their skateboarding shoes, Vans, an American brand, continue to provide functional and stylish sneakers since 1966. It was established by the brothers Paul Van Doren and Jim Van Doren together with their partners, Gordon Lee and Serge Delia. On the morning of the day the brand launched, the well-known Authentic sneaker by Vans, also known as Vans #44 Deck Shoe, was sold.

Ever since the Vans was established, it has become the world’s largest youth culture brand. It released its famous sneakers with a waffle sole that never let down its users. Some of their most iconic classic sneakers after the Vans Authentic are the Vans #95, now known as the Vans Era, and the Vans #36, well recognized as the Vans Old Skool.

It also released the Style 73, otherwise known as the Epoch Sport, that has a unique truncated V-shaped lateral overlay. The Vans Anaheim Style 73 was used as a model for the brand new Vans Sport. The retro sneaker throwbacks a timeless silhouette with a sleek design, featuring a premium suede upper that is sitting on the brand’s famous chunky rubber waffle outsole. Despite being remodeled, it has kept its truncated “V” side stripe.
